Look, its the (nearly?) richest country in the world!
And if you can’t afford to pay for The Amerisraeli War,® don’t worry, we’ll soon have a draft for you!

Trump is a pathologically lying, maliciously narcissistic, brain damaged, subhuman troglodyte, so yeah that tracks.
It can, it just won’t. Thats why he’s got to go
“Why aren’t people having kids anymore?”
I hope the fertility rate drops to South Korea levels.
The one child policy is gonna be wild!
“They should pay, they have to raise their taxes,” Trump continued. “But they should pay for it. And we could lower our taxes a little bit to them to make up, but we, it’s not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things.”
looks at Florida… if only their immigrants were healthy young people.
Cutting federal taxes, and federal state funding, in order to ask states to raise taxes is, FYI, a shell game. Clear sign of imminent federal collapse, which is not a “comfort factor” for states.
While fair and friendly state secession involves accepting a net share of federal debts to assets, fuck all y’all secession is an escape from insance clown possee, suggesting a fuck all y’all entitlements (non) reimbursement plan. California is unfortunately governed by zionist federal power monger aspirationalist, but California accepting US tariff and energy policy is significant harm to California, before this BS.
We can’t take care of these little things. These scams you got going on…
Amazing that the health and education of the people are simultaneously little things, scams, and unaffordable by the federal government.
TBF you never see billionaires complain about not having access to health care or high education. More proof that poor people are always complaining. /s just in case…
He also said states should raise taxes and pay for daycare and healthcare themselves.
I agree. States should raise the tax rate to 90% for anyone who makes more than a million a year. Good idea, Mr covfefe
Since Palantir has all the voting registrations linked to all the social security numbers, Musk raided and kept all our sensitive data, and the age of the draft has gone up, how much you want to bet the government suddenly drafts only the younglings who happen to be a Democrat to fight and die in his war?
The drafts throughout history in many countries have always been done this way to varying degrees. It is partially seen as a way to mow the lawn as the elite class would see it. Whoever the undesirables are at that point in time get to go into the meat grinder first. Most recently, Russia has done this in Ukraine… Sending convicts, minority groups, poor people, etc, to the front line. Modern systems now would allow specific targeting of a draft to political opponents, specific areas of certain groups, and so on.
Russia’s system so far is voluntary deployment bonuses. These are more attractive to the poor than the rich, by nature (it is illegal for the rich to live under a bridge too), but that is very different than “rigging a draft”.
There is a problem with that.
Data from early 2025 indicated that voters aged 18 to 21 favored Republicans by roughly 12 points, a sharp contrast to those aged 22-29, who continued to lean Democratic.
So they need to make sure to only draft 22-29 if they truly want to try to skew elections.
Data from 2025 is too old. You have to remember that 18-21 voters were children during Trump’s first presidency, and their political reality was defined by Covid.
They were not happy with the Biden administration, and for good reasons, so they reacted by leaning R. Now they are learning just how deeply depraved and disfunctional the Republican party is. I believe they will be radicalized into lifelong anti-Republican voters.
Check out this CNN poll from a few days ago.
A follow‑up CNN/SSRS poll conducted from March 26 to March 30 found Trump’s approval among 18‑ to 34‑year‑olds had fallen to just 20 percent, while disapproval increased to 80 percent, putting his net approval rating among young adults at minus 60

Good information, I sure do hope you are correct.
I wonder how much that has skewed - and very much for the typical narcissistic reasons - since then. But yeah, if they go by old data, they may find they have to “draft” older people.
Good point, I think that the draft would be incredibly unpopular as well and likely change people’s perception if instituted.
Well it looks like I’m not going to be able to pay my taxes this year.
I know you said this as a joke but there are tons of legal ways to avoid taxes.
-Contribute to a retirement account or health savings account
-Create a business around one of your hobbies and deduct all your expenses for that hobby
-Purchase certain treasuries or municipal bonds
-Bribe a government official
I hear so many people make that statement. I realize most are just making a flippant “joke”.
Not paying your taxes, assuming you owe any federal taxes, is a recipe for a whole heap of trouble and expensive if you’re working class. This isn’t VISA where you can basically just ignore the debt for X number of years and then you’re in the clear. The federal government has considerably more options for getting the money owed.
Just ask for an extension you can ask six months at a time if you dont owe more than a few thousand they wont mind it’ll get autoapproved
government can’t come for you if your tear it down and build a new one
And unicorns can’t fart if you steal their butts!
Yeah its a good thing that never in history have governments, sometimes of the largest economies and some the most capable of projecting force, its a good thing that never in history have governments collapsed, having been replaced whole cloth.
Its a good thing thats never happened, otherwise your sarcasm could be mistaken for a deep, toxic, counter productive cynicism.
I’m curious, which historical events are you referring to?
China does it ever couple hundred years, the Roman Empire by its end in the 1400s had been effectively reorganized dozens of times and could hardly be considered the same state, Britain and France more or less collapsed to their core territories by the 60s, the Spanish and Portuguese Empires imploded economically before being picked apart by the Dutch and newly independent colonies. I could go on but those are the big ones where the empires in question had notable territory loss or effectively reorganized in totality, there’s a couple smaller examples like with Sweden becoming Insular or how Islam transitioned from an imperial institution in a lot of ways into a religious one, but those examples rarely are as impressive or went on for centuries without any real turning points.
Oh I don’t know. Maybe just pick any of them. Perhaps most recently, that one weird event which resulted in the formation of the nationstates Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
So fun that people down vote legitimate questions.
Yeah it was a flippant joke 😭 although Trump made some pretty big cuts to the IRS
Eventually the IRS would garnish a person’s wages, yes? For someone self employed, that wouldn’t exactly be a viable option I suppose. They could put a hold on someone’s bank accounts and whatnot if garnishment isn’t possible.
You’d need to transition to a cash based lifestyle to circumvent this. Difficult to do in today’s world.
Yes. Wage garnishment is one tool they have. Granted, debt collectors have that tool as well, it’s just that the federal government can do it much more quickly and easily.
I’ve had 2 family members, that I know of, over the years who decided they weren’t going to pay their federal taxes because they didn’t like who the president was. Both of them regretted it.
Fuck Trump
10 years ago, a statement like this from ANY potus would have turned into a month off front-page freakout. Now? It gets a one-second shrug.
Fuck. Where we are now. So quickly.
I doubt it would have applied to the cons.
IOKIYAR.
Newt and his team have been working to divide America since at least 1990. Actively. And it gets little mention. Meanwhile, plenty of reactionary centrists and nearly all of the mainstream media and of course the unhinged right wing would say things like “Obama is divisive” as some kind of serious analysis.
Meanwhile, the cons have been intentionally trying to divide. And were not called on it every single day, as they should be.
The GOPAC memo “Language: A Key Mechanism of Control” is something every American should be aware of, but I bet maybe 1% are.
So if earlier asshole GOP POTUSes were to blurt this out before, it would probably get bothsidered and downplayed back then, too.
Not even 10 years ago tbh… If Biden said this when he was president, Republicans would inexplicably become the number one advocates of healthcare and childcare and screech endlessly about him being a warmonger for several news cycles.
It’s not “10 years ago,” because it has nothing to do with time passing. It has everything to do with Republicans doing a coordinated and concerted capture of all media.
It goes away because they want it to - the silly non-news used to stick around for a month because of their manipulation. It’s important to remember and talk about this widely
Just. Start. Shooting. Them.
Big strong scary words behind an anonymous handle. You sound real tough.
The toughest thing you could do would be to write an op-ed and publish it under your real name and talk this tough.
You can’t. You won’t. Sit down.
We all agreed on what to do with Nazis 80 years ago. When did you change your mind?
We all agreed on what to do with Nazis 80 years ago.
Sneak them into the USA to work as high level civil servants and scientists?
I don’t think that will really help now, tbh.
Excellent point.
Coward. Did you write your op-ed under your real name yet big scary tough guy?
Show us the way with your big strong words
The GOP effectively castrated news outlets and favored them to conservative propaganda.
Maybe, but in my entire lifetime (certainly more than 10 years), Republican POTUS can say or do literally anything they want with little to no actual repercussions at the polls. I feel 100% confident that Reagan could have said this, his policies were doing this just not so explicitly stated. Bush Jr got the USA into war over false pretenses and it took many, many years after his presidency was long over before public opinion shifted slightly on the topic in terms of realizing how wrong it was.
Remember Mustardgate? I do and I’m not even American…
The tan suit. What a jerk!
He put his feet up on the desk‽
Nice use of the interrobang!
thanks for noticing! 🍻
What was the actual quote?
Like, I know trump sucks and absolutely says these things with his actions, but…
MeidasTouch is one of the most clickbaity, reactionary, and misleading excuses for “journalism” that we have on the left. The kid does a good job going head-to-head with conservative pundits on televised news, but I don’t take any of their headlines at face value, especially because they all tend to be inflammatory and are often no more than speculative.
I’m not giving them the web traffic to see if there’s anything of substance behind this headline. Anyone who did, care to share the direct quote?
And don’t those things (daycare, healthcare, Medicare) have high returns on value too? Because the workers benefitting from them are then more productive, so government recoups the investment in its people via taxes. Health issues can be tackled earlier when they’re cheaper. I’d assume less property crime as people are less desperate, etc etc. Funding domestic social programs is always the right move
While you are absolutely right, you’re also out of your mind if you think the president gives even one shit about high returns on value to anyone other than himself.
There was a saying I heard a while back that keeps popping up. A version of “Democrats would rather feed 100 people in case one was hungry, Republicans would rather withhold food from 100 people in case one didn’t deserve it.”
Just in case, this is Democratic and Republican voters. Democratic politicians mostly agree with Republicans on this but in a pinch will means test 100 hungry people to find and feed the hungriest of them.
That is not even accurate, their leaders, the ones controlling the party, want to starve all the poor, they want nothing but harm to the poor, because that’s what the party wants, and they believe in nothing other than self interest.
Literally setting cash on fire has a higher return on value than war.
You don’t have to appeal to financial incentives to say that these are good programs. In fact, I would say that our tendency to frame situations in that manner is a huge part of why we are a society with an empathy problem. You should just say that providing these services to people is a moral imperative. If someone disagrees with that then you know right off the bat that they suck and you shouldn’t waste more time talking with them.
Yeah but those are incompatible with billionaires getting richer. At least in the short term. Which is all that matters to the leeching class.
