He instructed the governmental oversight committee to study the implications of adding to Texas “one or more contiguous counties of New Mexico” and the process to do so, after welcoming a proposal out of New Mexico to allow its counties to band together and secede. State boundaries make sense in that if there were none everyone would be represented by a single entity. They have to exist at some level for that reason.

It needs to be broken into individual locations so that citizens are better locally represented. Whether or not the seemingly arbitrary lines make sense is a different debate, but have some level of boundaries should exist due to the size of this country.
