Wow this is a real cookie terror popup crap page closed it immediately
Well at least we’re great, again.
Buckle up fam. This is a nation of dimwitted dumbfucks. It’s not going to get any better because we’re too stupid to vote for it to get better.
Don’t blame the voters. They’re idiots who are struggling to make ends meet. Blame the people in power who manipulate vulnerable people into doing bad things. The solution to our problem is NOT more citizens without rights.
No, I will blame the voters.
Local offices, sure, but really you can blame the gerrymandering and electoral college. Voters just decide the popular vote, nothing more.
Then you’re a willing member of a country divided, and you let him win.
On my daily commute, I would normally pass 2 or 3 cars for sale parked out in people’s front yards. Last I counted, that number was 12. More if I were to include other things suddenly for sale, like boats, bikes, and golf carts.
Thank goodness - it’s so much better than it was under the (memory-hole version of) Biden’s economy! Doesn’t everyone else remember that total hellscape?
– many “centrists”, some “leftists” and every single Taco cult member, probably
Anybody else notice a lot of houses for sale recently? Some near me are on the market for a long time.
I’m not driving between neighborhoods much, but I do see for sale signs here and there. What I notice a lot more, however, are tons of for lease signs in front of business real estate.
I used to drive by these two houses in a rural neighborhood which had huge “trump” signs in their front lawns for years.
Both houses recently replaced those signs with “for sale” signs.I had to laugh.
Most of the southeast in the US is in an early housing market collapse. New homes cost less than used inventory, which is a horrible sign. Inventory and time on market are also creeping up.
Supposedly the real estate market is the worst it’s been since 1995. I guess if you are on the buying side, it might be ok. Not sure if recent/upcoming rate cuts will start showing up in mortgage rates…
“My business is a human misery lottery.”
How are we the best country again?
How are we the best country again?
It’s a lie that Americans have been telling themselves for a few centuries.
I don’t think we were ever literally the best country, those tend to be the nordics. I believe (and I guess I should do some research) that “the greatest country on earth” was a marketing slogan. Like the local coffee shop that says they have the best coffee in the country or something. It was a very successful marketing campaign considering it’s still being believed and discussed.
Ya but tell that to a MAGA. they’ll lose their fucking mind.
Then tell them Trump has never won an election against a man.
Edit:
TheyThenAlso, that he’s the first president to be openly cucked. We all know his wife is getting it from someone else.
Isn’t Baron actually the old Canadian PM’S kid? Looks a lot like him, and explain trump hatin on him
There really is no best, but maybe at some point we were among the best. Sure as shit not now though.
Cuz the TV has been saying so our entire lives. Duh!!!
capitalist america needed workforce -> tell everyone in the whole world that america is the best place in the world so people move there
You get a little under $300/month as a single person that qualifies for food welfare.
It’s even more if you have a family.
Most of the people complaining about money are greedy morons.
$300/month is not even enough to feed a single person for an entire 30 days in some places.
I shoot for $10/day and it’s getting impossible to make it last a whole month. I am usually not eating for a few days before I get paid again.
$300/month is not even enough to feed a single person for an entire 30 days in some places.
That’s complete, and utter bullshit.
If you believe that, then you genuinely need to get more life experience.
(it makes sense why most of you believe it)
I shoot for $10/day
Yeah, this is the issue. Clearly your parents didn’t raise you to take care of yourself.
They obviously mean with a reasonable, varied diet typical of American consumers. If you think you can eat a typical diet on $10/day in Deadhorse, then you clearly have never been there. A single loaf of bread will set you back more than $10. It seems food is cheaper where you live, which is why they added the caveat of “some places”
By the way, is there a reason you decided to personally attack the person and their parents? It doesn’t reflect well on you, or your personality, nor is it constructive discussion
That’s complete, and utter bullshit.
If you believe that, then you genuinely need to get more life experience.
Are you illiterate or willfully being obtuse? I literally just described my actual experience with being on foodstamps.
Yeah, this is the issue. Clearly your parents didn’t raise you to take care of yourself.
I have a budget of just under $300 for a 30 day period. $10/day for 30 days is $300, genius.
You don’t need to spend $10/day to feed yourself if you’re not an idiot.
If I could spend less a day, I would you dense motherfucker. The point is, shit is too expensive that even $10/day isn’t LOW enough where I live.
And that’s a load of bullshit.
Your parents didn’t raise you to take care of yourself properly if you can’t feed yourself on less than $10/day.
You’ve confused the maximum possible benefit with what people actually get. Have a look at Texas’ calculator to see how it works: https://www.snapscreener.com/screener/texas
By the way, it’s called SNAP, not “food welfare”. You seem proud of your ignorance on the topic, so I don’t imagine you’ll bother looking into it more, but I’d recommend learning a bit more about SNAP. Might help you learn empathy along the way
No, I’m not confusing it at all.
If you’re a single person, you will receive a little under $300 in welfare.
Yes, I know it’s called SNAP. I choose to use language that other people can immediately understand because I’m not a pretentious loser. You should try it sometime.
Lol what? Are you seriously saying disenfranchised people are greedy?
If they’re too stupid to get on welfare, or welfare isn’t enough for them, then yes.
Just a few things…
-
Welfare in America almost never reaches the pocket of the person “receiving” the assistance. Nearly every “hand out” is just a subsidy for people with way too much money. For example, SNAP is farm and grocery store subsidy not a disenfranchised individuals meal ticket. The food has already been made and processed. The government just makes sure farmers don’t lose money on their surplus or scale back their yields. Grocery stores don’t have to spend time and money throwing away literally tons of food a month because there’s enough customers.
-
On average, an American only spends 3 years on welfare. States with additional support that time is much lower. Under a year in some progressive states. Can you guys which states have people on welfare forever? At the end of the day states that help out spend less because they actually turn people into productive members of society.
-
Finally, did you know that between China, India, and America we produce enough stuff to feed, house, clothe, educate, make safe, and provide community for every human? The only reason we don’t, “fuck you.” that’s why. Your position is ghoulish at best and down right stupid and evil at worst.
-
Yes
Can I just point out that the middleman taking a commission adds no value to this transaction. I can give a neighbor a can of beans directly and anonymously through my neighborhood little free pantry.
When I used GoFundMe a few weeks ago, paying them was optional. It’s possible they were lying but they made it seem like I could pay them as little as I wanted and if I chose 0, all my money would go to the person/org I’m trying to support. I think they defaulted it to 5% but allowed me to choose 0. I honestly think supporting gofundme isn’t a bad idea (they build and maintain software and infrastructure to make donations easy) but in that case I wanted the recipient to get it all.
You are correct but IIRC you have to opt out as their commission is included by default. Found this out after donating, it was easy to go back and undo it
Ah ok. Maybe at one point it was easy to overlook, but it wasn’t for me when I made my recent donation. Good they let you change it.
by design
crazy that even begging for money has been monetized
Ah, but they aren’t begging, they’re his “customers.”
he lets them beg on his property
imagine how would it look like as a physical location
people renting a spot to beg among others and other people casually browsing for someone to donate to
nuts
Don’t give the capitalists any more bad ideas.
That’s it decided then! RTO for all beggars.
This basically exists, a good number of areas, basically dying strip malls, will convert to a bunch of stalls to record tikoks from, they have props and clothes and such that are either shared or rented, something like that.
Well, people have to go to work and can’t stand on the street to beg for enough money to pay for food…. Despite having a job.
Also can’t stand in line for the food bank at 10:00am on a Tuesday for expired milk, potato chips, and nutrient-dense vegetables like… cilantro.
work from home beg from work
Gosh I wonder what we could do about income inequality to fix this.
Rent parties are back! Just without the jazz, and food, and booze, and community… But at least it’s monetized for a tech CEO! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rent_party
You should post that to the Wikipedia community.
Would have been fun if he would have said that while at the World Economic Forum.
Who are they getting money from? Other people who can’t afford groceries? We’re just all buying each other groceries that one of us can afford?
Likely situations where a person will be okay this month so they send another $20 or so and maybe a few months down the line, they are the one that needs a bit of help.
It’s like the proverb, “it takes a village”, only commoditized.
Sounds like socialism to me.
Maybe we need a bigger version, funded by those who won’t miss the money.
It’s literally the methodology of…insurance.
I don’t believe that’s how insurance works. They charge people based on perceived risk, not based on how much they can pay
But how would they swim if they paid for all our avocado toast?
CollegeHumor CEO series is amazing if you havent seen them.
This is the skit i thought of when i saw the headline.
Mostly the economy is under terrible management since January 20th. It was doing really well before then, now it’s only doing really well for the select few that are part of the oligarchy class thats on good terms with the mobster in charge.
Wy do you feel the economy was doing well when pretty much every metric shows that everyone not making six figures has seen their quality of life drop for the last 4 year?
has seen their quality of life drop for the last 4 year?
i think it’s not just the last 4 years but the last few decades, it’s only that the downward momentum seems to be speeding up recently
The economy was on a great trajectory thanks to the inflation reduction act, now it’s crashing into the ground. Just check the value of the dollar.
The past 5 years were a struggle everywhere, we just barely got past the effects of COVID on the world economy.
So you didn’t say what metric indicated the economy was doing so well. Do you think the raising costs of housing, the raising cost of food and groceries, skyrocketing car prices, lackluster jobs reports, declining number of people able to afford a $1000 emergency, or the roll back of covid hazard pay were the best indicators of the strength of the economy the last 4 years? Because the economy has been abysmal for all but the wealthy. Pretending otherwise is exactly what got the Democrats obliterated in the general election last year.
Because the economy was objectively recovering and doing better than it is now before January. And we were recovering significantly better than other nations.
This isn’t debatable. It’s supported by hard data.
Add in significant legislation passed by the Biden administration to help Americans and it’s just a simple fact that things were better and now they’re worse.
But that’s what happens when you elect a low IQ felon rapist traitor who has always operated like a mob boss to run our country with a bunch of sycophants who will do whatever the fuck he tells them to.
Stocks were doing well, but most people’s quality of life was objectively decreasing while stocks went up. What about that makes it a “good” economy for the majority of people?
