raised an uproar on the X platform on Friday

Why are people still using that platform? All the head Nazi has to do is tell some underling to delete/hide your tweet, or block you forever…

But I was told both sides are equally bad and that I should have stayed home or voted 3rd party /s

The “third party” people are just as bad as Centrist, Libertarians and MAGAT’s. I can never decide where on my “Idiots I Hate Who Vote” list to put them. Like, after MAGAT’s how do you decide between Centrist, Libertarian and “third party” to go in second place? As soon as I think I’ve decided a nupty from one of the other groups pops up and reminds me why I hate them.

“raised an uproar on the X platform”

He’s using the fascist’s social media site to condemn what the fascist administration is doing?

He’s using the platform where Nazis are, where the administrator of the site can (and regularly does) amplify the Nazis, and silence the non-Nazis, where the good people have already all left.

Mastodon would work, but not just Mastodon, also post to Bluesky, to his own blog, to Substack, to Threads, to Hacker News, to Face, to Instant Gran, To Medium-large, to wherever. Broadcast everywhere. Don’t just post on the Nazi site.

“anymore.” Honey, you haven’t been a democracy for a long, long time. What we’re seeing is the natural end result of decades of subversive work.

Honestly, and other people on Lemmy acting like this election is the ONLY thing that caused this moment are real ignorant, this has been building for decades. If the Party Loyalists had pushed their party to be GOOD instead of just being “not the other guy” we wouldn’t be in this moment.

I am SO sick of this blame-shifting argument. Everyone who didn’t show up to vote for the only “not Trump” candidate likely to win is 100% partially responsible for what we’re dealing with now. Full stop. It’s not the Dem’s fault, it’s not the system’s fault, it’s not anyone’s fault except those who sat out or threw their vote away out of protest because they completely fail to even acknowledge the existence of a bigger picture.

Hurr durr, fascism is bad, but the other side isn’t perfect so I’m not voting against fascism to teach them a lesson.

There were two items on the menu: “Status Quo (flawed but not fascism)” and “Speedrun to Fascism”.

The fact that there are still people defending their decision to sit out / vote third party is mind boggling. At least if some of those would own up and say “I fucked up” I might have a shred of respect for them.

I voted for Harris. The guy you’re responding to is still right. If democrats had actually represented the working class for the last 30 years instead of paying lip service to the idea then we would not be in this situation. Saying that does not excuse the actions of Republicans or conservative voters. It’s simply an honest accounting of Democrats failure to present a convincing counter argument to the GOP. You would think that would be easy to do and yet here we are.

The FCC is like the one agency they could shrink

I get it, it’s too late to go back to an era where radio waves were free, but the FCC has way too stringent rules. They should worry about things like protecting critical devices from interference and ensuring companies don’t fuck people over (monopolies, robocalls, stuff like that)

The normal FCC is not the issue.
Trump and his people threatening journalists is the problem.

It is though. Like I said, certain tasks are important, but others are overreach (specifically what they do with censorship and control of certain airwaves)
