  • So you prefer masked men abducting people off the street to how it was last year?

Progess takes a lot more time than regression. You think improving government should be like ordering something off of Amazon, just check a box and have it the next day. That’s not how things work, and if you were really dedicated to change you’d be willing to vote in every election (including the primaries) to get that change. The anti-abortion crowd are the minority but they got what they wanted by doing this for decades. You’re not getting what you want because you’re just not as dedicated as they are. Democracy requires work to get what you want, and if you’re not even bothering to vote you’re conceding governing to those that are way more dedicated to their causes than you are.

  • “Don’t compare me to the Almighty, compare me to the alternative.” - Joe Biden

Democracy is not a great system, it’s just better than the alternatives. In a democracy you aren’t going to have something perfect on the ballot that you can mark an X beside and all problems are solved forever. In a democracy it’s you’re duty as a citizen to keep informed and prevent the worst people from getting into power. Joe Biden wasn’t a saint, neither was Obama, or Clinton, or anyone else. What matters is using your vote to get the best possible outcome result possible from every given election. The best possible result may not be great, but you’re preventing something even worse. The constitution is just a piece of paper, it doesn’t protect your rights, your vote protects your rights. That healthcare you want, isn’t going to happen when you take a principled stand by not voting for anything less than perfection, in fact you’ll probably lose what little you have.

You’re looking at all the faults of Biden but he did a lot to promote labour unions, got the ball rolling on anti-trust on corporations, protected the meager healthcare you have, repaired relations with other countries, and was actually a good steward of the economy considering the circumstances (and despite the media narrative). Was he perfect? No. Would Kamal been perfect? Nope. But what small progress was made is lost now and you’re descending into becoming a fascist hellhole because you lacked the pragmatism to accept anyone that didn’t pass your bullshit purity test.

And you’re whinging about him pardoning his son? Have you been living under a rock? Trump is prosecuting anyone and everyone that ever said anything negative about him. People complain about old Joe being senile (and maybe he was) but even he had the wherewithal to now where things were going more than you do. Everyone knew Trump was going to turn the DOJ into his own personal attack squad except for you apparently.

  • No it won’t. That just gets someone either killed by the Secret Service or put in jail for the rest of their lives. And you convince a lot of people that a crackdown is justified.

Where are you from, Russia? Iran? Why are doing this idiotic stochastic terrorism bullshit that obviously only makes things worse for everyone? Maybe you’ve just been influenced by foreign troll farms to talk this way. But it’s stupid and will only get people hurt with no positive political outcome.

  • Pretty much the case. Even those on the left want to blame Democrats for the things Trump is doing. Like it should’ve been obvious in 2016 this guy shouldn’t be President. After Jan 6 he should’ve been thrown in prison. The US has become a country of whiny children crying about how mommy and daddy Democrats aren’t protecting them from the worst impulses created by the horrible culture the countries decayed into. Without realizing the reason you hate the Democratic party is because you’ve become a culture that hates democracy in general.

  • Most fascist movements actually fade away. We tend not to focus on those too much since it’s not as interesting as the fascist movements that started WWII.

It’s not as exciting to do non-violent resistance, but it makes it difficult for authoritarians to accomplish anything and failed authoritarians don’t have a very long lifespan. There are those that respect authoritarians because “they get things done” but when the opposite happens and nothing works as good as it used to they aren’t respected by anyone. Even an authoritarian needs a base of support to have power and through non-violent resistance this can be accomplished.

Violent resistance actually helps a fascist movement in the early stages. See the assassination of Charlie Kirk… it didn’t weaken them in any way, it actually made them stronger. A loner with a gun isn’t going to change anything, even a small armed group can’t change anything. You need to build a significant base of support to accomplish anything and that’s what the No Kings group is doing. Most likely the non-violent resistance will succeed, and even in the case where the fascists use violence against a non-violent movement, there’s actually a framework for a resistance movement to succeed by other means.

You gotta have numbers to accomplish anything and No Kings is building up their numbers. That’s a real movement that can do something more than just whining on the internet.

  • You haven’t been paying attention have you? The government wants violence to justify them taking away more rights and gaining more power. Everything they’re doing so far is under the made up emergencies because of made up threats. These actions can be challenged in court.

If there were real violent actions they’d have real power not the phony power they have now based on phony claims of violence.

Who’s side are you on? The things you’re saying serve to help the fascists. One unhinged loner does violence and you get what? Another Charlie Kirk kind of thing? What did that accomplish?

Right now it’s a time to organize. Not organize online, that’s bullshit since the powers that be mostly have control over. Organize face to face with people in your community. If only there were some event happening where people could do that…

  • Abolitionist movements, women’s suffrage movements, and civil rights movements were all successful non-violent resistance movements.

What did violent resistance movements achieve other than getting a bunch of people killed? Oh right sometimes the leaders of violent resistance movements get power and there is the 100% predictable result of putting violent people into power.

On the internet there’s always some foreign troll farm whispering “burn down your own capital” in everyone’s ears all of the time in every country they don’t like. But it’s stupid to listen to them, their motives aren’t to improve anything for you, they just want to create chaos.

Violent resistances don’t accomplish anything. Non-violent resistances have accomplished a lot if you actually study history instead of listening to the troll farms.

  • Yes they will charge you more, because there’s toxic waste involved and it can be expensive to handle in an environmentally friendly way. It’s cheaper to refine rare earths by just dumping the toxic waste on the ground, which is what China does and it’s how they cornered the market.

This is one of the cases where tariffs are good. Produce the rare earths the right way (even if it costs more) and slap tariffs on products that are produced in ways that damages the environment (as China does).

  • The reason your movement doesn’t get credibility is because you can’t recognize that massacring people because of their ethnicity (what Hamas did) is genocide. If you’re claiming that Hamas didn’t commit genocide while also claiming Israel has, that requires some serious mental gymnastics to reconcile. But you’re not even trying to reconcile the discrepancy in how you consider the the actions of Hamas vs. how you consider the actions of Israel. You feel like if you just shout loud enough, engage in harassment campaigns to intimidate people from discussing the topic, you can control the narrative.

And you can control the narrative in small corners of the internet like this. But then what? You support a violent movement that tortures people to silence dissent. Do you ever ask “are we the baddies?” or do you continue down the dark path without questioning anything?
