There’s another saying, “Give them bread and circuses, and they will never revolt.” These statements are in direct conflict with each other.
Hammurabi’s Code was largely about building standards. This tells us that buildings at the time were terrible. It seems that not much has changed in that regard.
At this point, switching to plastic straws feels like such a reprieve. Can we keep him focused on little annoyances like this? Or making him hysterical that the 7-11 ran out of Cheetos?
