President Donald Trump on Wednesday acknowledged that his tariffs could result in fewer and costlier products in the United States, saying American kids might “have two dolls instead of 30 dolls,” but he insisted China will suffer more from his trade war.

Except the kids aren’t getting 2 dolls. They’re getting dragged out into the middle of the street half naked in the middle of the night because the brownshirts can’t even read an address correctly when they’re casually disappearing whole families.

Why the fuck is this even reported on. Fuck this whole system, down to the author that thought ‘ya that’s worth making an article’

Don’t buy your kids dolls. Buy them fpv drones.

2 dolls instead of 30 works out to a reduction of 93.3%! That’s HUGE. If that’s supposed to be his positive spin on things, Americans are truly fucked.

It really shows that he doesn’t care about Americans, he cares about punishing and attacking people that he doesn’t like. That is all that matters to him, and he doesn’t hide that.

The fact that he has supporters is absolutely unfathomable to me. Then again, those same supporters want to punish the same people he does, so it starts to make sense.

He wants to punish Americans more than probably anyone else. Americans had the nerve to laugh at him when people joked about his hair, or makeup, or physique. Americans did not elect him in 2020. Americans allowed him to be forced out and didnt fight back hard enough when Biden “stole” the election. Americans allowed him to have some minor inconveniences when they put him on trial, raided his house for classified docs or made him take reaponsibility for his actions. Americans are going to pay because he knows nothing other than vengence for percieved slights and Americans allowed them all to happen

That’s the real statement. Instead of 30 dolls it will be 2, but that translates to food supplies, too. Instead of 30 dinners in a month, we’ll only have 2.

In the year after Maduro took over Venezuela, the average citizen lost 40 pounds.

If a dollar is good, then lots of dollars is even better. To him, toys are like currency for kids, so when he wanted to buy a doll for Ivanka or Eric, he’d give them 30 of the same doll, rather than a bunch of different toys.

Jr just wanted his daddy’s love, which doest exist, so he was shit out of luck.

I don’t understand the hard on the right has for China yet they benefit greatly from China’s low costs. As soon as the USSR fell and Islamic fundamentalism faded away I just knew the US would be looking for a new boogeyman to keep us distracted and justify defense spending.

If your suffering is negligibly small and your opponent’s – critical for him, then you can demand something.

Imagine a war where all sides are losing soldiers but one side is winning.

But in the case of China I’m not sure who will suffer more in the long run.

I doubt that Chinese customers depend much on imports from the USA. They might feel the overall slowering the economy until China finds a new destination for its goods, but that’s it.

And? Some will move, others – won’t. Moving industry is a huge deal. It isn’t easy. And most companies understand that the problem is not China but Trump. Today Americans are required to pay additional taxes for Chinese stuff, tomorrow they will pay for Indian stuff.

Maybe you have some real numbers to analyze?

Not sure man, my vehicle threw a rod and I am struggling to find financing to get a used vehicle until I make the money to figure out a long term solution. Partner checked FB marketplace because I don’t have an account, I checked Craigslist, and the dealers near me can’t seem to make a loan work with $1000 down on vehicles listed at $15k. Found one car selling for under 10k, but it has 95k miles and everything online seems to say it has a 135k mile average lifespan. So when you don’t know how the people before you drove it, and it’s got a 3rd party exhaust on it, I have to assume my extremely (55-60 mile) drive to work will leave me stranded on the side of the road by the end of the year still owing money on it unless I scrape the barrel everywhere in my budget and somehow sell it for nickles in 6 months trying to trade it in for something half way better. Maybe I can get arrested when I become homeless and die in jail instead of on the street.

Go to credit unions around you and apply for a loan yourself. You shouldn’t ever rely on dealerships to find financing for you. Interest rates are awful right now but with your commute you need something reliable and fuel efficient (like a Camry or Corolla).

I once bought a 1990 Nissan Sentra for $700 in 2013, then sold it ten months later for $700. I had to pay for gasoline and oil, but that’s it. It was a totally functional car, it was just absolutely tiny and didn’t have airbags, so I didn’t really want to keep driving it.

I think it was a three speed automatic, lol. It felt like it weighed about 250 kg, but it was actually pretty manageable in the snow because it was so easy to get back in control once you’d lost it.

The last time I was looking (~6 years ago), banks were unwilling to offer and very judgmental about my request for a loan on a used car. They said loans were for new cars and the bank isn’t a replacement for a little financial know-how. I only went to two banks and one credit union, because I got tired of being condescended to, but the dealership said that they hadn’t heard of used car loans from a bank before (could be a lie).

I absolutely have used a credit union loan to finance a used car. They had rules…less than ten years, 85000 miles or something, but definitely did the loan. At the time anything under 7000 was considered a personal loan and had a higher interest rate.

            Good luck.

Why are you looking at dealers? Plenty of Camrys and Accords out there. They will do 400k miles easy. Ask private seller if they’re willing to do a inspection, find a mechanic that’ll do one for you and then meet at their shop.
