RICO is “racketeering”
So women lose their bodily autonomy as soon as their fetus becomes viable? How’s that work?
I’m aware of all of the terrible things that my government has done. I purposely said 80 years because of the internment of Japanese citizens is the closest thing to what’s happening. Still much different though. Not here for the hardship Olympics.
If you know about history, and you pretend what’s happening isn’t unprecedented, then you’re being disingenuous.
2077 seems pretty outrageous, but if we’re talking replacement of every lead service line and meter connection in the city of Chicago, the logistics around a project of that magnitude are absurd and difficult to grasp. Even just the sheer number of replacements would be astronomical, let alone the logistics involved in performing the construction in some pretty cramped areas, including shutting down streets and businesses.
Dunno about 2077, but I could see it taking at least a decade… They’d probably do it in phases, rather than one massive project, which could also stretch things out.
If the EPA/state DEP didn’t exist, this never would have been such a big issue! Let’s just stop testing water for lead. Boom, problem solved.
🔫
Just like “FEMA camps,” it was projection.
to my family this is just business as usual with extra manpower
This is simply not true, and it’s dangerous to pretend that it is. I’m not saying anything about how good or bad things have been for your family in the US.
However, there is not been any time in the past, at least, 80 years that the US government has trafficked lawful permanent residents, green card holders, literal infants with terminal cancer, etc., to a mega prison in a country they’ve likely never been to and have never had a connection to. That’s not “business as usual.”
Not, in at least 80 years (probably never), has a sitting president threatened to “deport” US citizens in any capacity, let alone for their political views. And, as we’ve all seen, these are not empty threats.
Never have we had such a corrupt and compromised Supreme Court. Never has a political party in the US been so subservient to a single demagogue, to the point of complete deriliction of duty.
I could go on and on… None of this is normal.
I’m not white washing anything, he was an awful president and is a pretty shitty human. But I don’t think he’s evil, I think he’s just really fucking stupid and easy to manipulate.
Don’t kill yourself.
But if you do, maybe consider making it worth it and becoming a hero/legend to the rest of us. You may take this to mean whatever you think it means.
No, they can’t do that and rightfully so. The man was accused of a crime, and therefore he was a right to a trial by a jury of his peers for each and every charge.
Not only just for the purposes of future appeals, but simply because the US Constitution grants every person in the US that right.
In the US? Lol right.
I dont think my birth certificate or a house title will go far in the apocalyptic dystopia
I don’t know, have you been paying attention? A birth certificate might save you from being sent to a prison in South America.
You know how people say, “it’s a free country”?
Yeah… Not anymore.
Charlie Chaplin released The Great Dictator in 1939, and while Hitler banned the film in Nazi-controlled countries, he allegedly watched it more than once after Chaplin personally arranged to have a copy sent to him (the balls on that guy).
Maybe not “death to Hitler,” but it’s fucking scathing, and the final speech would be considered extreme if it was released today.
Fantastic film if anyone hasn’t seen it. Hysterical, on point satire.
You people are so weird. At no point did i say that medical masks are hard to breathe through. I only said that whatever they are wearing will be easier to breathe through.
I… Erm…
I think the good guys will ultimately win and make the American Dream a reality
What good guys?
It wasn’t awful enough for Tillis if I read correctly.
Bush was definitely not nearly as evil. Cheney and Rumsfeld, maybe. Bush was a useful idiot.
lacked the full support of the GOP
Yeah, that’s not how I remember it.
Why the fuck would I care about Roe v Wade? Am I supposed to base my idealogy on supreme court decisions and nothing else? Who fucking cares what Roe v. Wade said?
