well I guess parking warships on Indian soil beats parking them at the bottom of the black sea
That’s a wise decision India, because Russia is such a reliable partner, and they have very high quality military products. 🤣🤣🤣
India is kinda over a barrel at the moment. They can barely feed all their people at the best of times, and the war in Iran has made fertilizer costs skyrocket. I don’t know the details of the deal, but I bet that, under the hood, the deal is actually “you give us massive amounts of fertilizer and fuel to keep our country fed and our economy out of the gutter, and we’ll let some of your troops and ships on our territory - but you’re not allowed to launch attacks from here”.
Russia gets to expand it’s influence at a time of waning influence. And India gets to feed it’s people and keep it’s economy running - when the alternative was some amount of starvation and the possible overthrow of the government.
That would make sense, I couldn’t read the article because it’s behind a paywall.
This just in, when you divide the world between 'The US and its allies" and “The entire rest of the fucking world,” the second party might make decisions that are not based in morality but survival.
The US has decided those are the two powers that exist on the planet. This is the problem with a unipolar hegemony, especially one that is fascist from every viewpoint except internally.
Russia is an awful right-wing imperialist capitalist country. No country should deal with it. Except, you know, all of the ones that could be victims of the US and thus don’t have the luxury to pick their friends.
They could have worked with Europe instead, Europe is in a similar situation India is.
those are the two powers that exist on the planet.
Then those 2 powers would be USA and China. Russia is not 1 of them. And EU would be a way better partner to India, for instance if they joined SAFE.
