  • Activities that are harmful to yourself and your surroundings are a form of not functioning.
Being poor and voting Trump is a form of self harm.
Disowning family and friends for being LGBT is a form of not functioning.
Believing prosperity gospel and donating to a church is a form of self harm, and failure to address problems properly.
Believing death is not that important because there’s a way better afterlife is outright insane, and a huge potential cause for self harm.
Except seeing how religious people who claim to believe that, are whining when they are about to die, proves they don’t really believe it.
It is very obvious that a belief system based on delusions is harmful when followed. The “Thoughts and prayers” idea is an obvious example, it allows people to do nothing about a problem with a good conscience.
And as we can see in American society, the delusional mindset is absolutely extremely harmful to American society.

The cog wheel may be turning, but it is broken so it does damage to itself and the cogwheels it is connected to with every turn it takes.

The only reason strongly religious people may appear to be functioning, is that for some reason that form of insanity is accepted by the majority, and because of that, so are the harmful effects of it.

  • I agree with MAGA it has become worse, especially with regard to immigrants and minorities.
And with MAGA it has become utterly unashamed.
But sociopathy has been a virtue in USA for decades, because It’s the ultimate expression of freedom.
And Americans consider individual freedom to be above everything else, even health and well being.

The Three strikes law is a clear example of this sociopathic mentality against fellow citizens.
Another clear example is the lack of healthcare for all, despite experience from other countries show it’s actually cheaper. These things date back to way way before MAGA.

The first true “three-strikes” law was passed in 1993

  • Trump is delusional and thinks he can bend reality to what he wants to be real.
This type of delusional thinking is very typical in USA, based on the idea that if you want it enough you can make it.
This mantra has become so pervasive that some have begun to believe that you don’t even have to do anything to achieve what you want. If the wanting is strong enough, reality will bend to your will.
This is what happens in an anti science society where the mentality is driven by religion and superstition combined with desperation and a wish for ultimate freedom.
The idea is spread for instance through numerous self help books and prosperity gospel.

USA is a society that has gone collectively insane.

    PS:
That doesn’t mean every American is insane, but as a whole American society is de facto insane. It’s obvious to see everyday in the news.
