KEY POINTS

Donald Trump said Thursday that gasoline prices are “not very high.”

A Quinnipiac University national poll of registered voters showed that 65% of U.S. voters blame Trump either “a lot” or “some” for the rise in gas prices seen since the beginning of the Iran war.

Trump said those prices are not as high as what was expected from the war, which he said was aimed at denying Iran the ability to produce a nuclear weapon.

14 months ago the guy across the road bought a car with a V8, at about the same time I got an EV. He smirked at me for buying an EV as a “pussy” car and I smile every time i hear it start :)

Oh, okay, we’ve reached the “Let them eat cake” stage of the story.

I read the Game of Thrones books before the show, so when everyone was getting ready for the Red Wedding, I knew what was really coming.

I kind of feel like that now, watching these historical ignoramuses making obvious mistakes, with very predictable results. I already read the upcoming chapter entitled “Guillotines.”

      Not very high, yet.

Idk what’s supposed to qualify as “High” anymore. They’re at $5/gal nationally, which is exactly where they were under Biden in 2022. And I was told they were “Too High” back then. But I guess now they’re not, because… ???

Not many people realize that the cost per barrel isn’t instantly related to the cost of gasoline.

It’s something our government teacher drilled into our heads, probably because it was 2008.

    The Narcissist’s Prayer

    That didn’t happen.

And if it did, it wasn’t that bad. <— You are here

And if it was, that’s not a big deal.

And if it is, that’s not my fault.

And if it was, I didn’t mean it.

And if I did, you deserved it.

How much did Bill Gates think a dozen eggs cost in the 1990s?

Billionaires not understanding working class struggles is nothing new.

Bill Gates was never in charge of a country and could be wrong, he was just a lucky CEO. Mean I’m sure he did a lot of work to buy DOS to repackage. Though they did take over development to our current day, for better or worse.

I’d hope whoever is in charge of a country understands the hardship increased prices cause the citizens of that country. It’s not new but it’s noteworthy when a leader is so out of touch with what 99% of people he’s supposed to lead deal with.

Average around me is $4.09/gal. I saw a gas station selling at $3.79/gal sell out today.

US$6.05 per USGal this morning at the station 3 blocks away. I WISH for $4/gal.

But it’s higher than it should be for America. And it’s senseless and needless, let’s be clear. I just had to make the joke.

The Truly Smart Republican will simply lie and say he knows a secret trick to get cheap gas, but he won’t tell you what it is because you’re a stupid lib.

He’s right. Even after all those price increases, gasoline is currently cheaper in the US than it was almost all over the world before the war.

For example it would have to reach $16/gallon to reach the same level of affordability as in India before the war.
