Former Rep. George Santos (R-NY) is out of prison, thanks to President Donald Trump commuting his 87-month sentence, but the serial fabulist may find his freedom to be short-lived.
The problem seems to be that consequences no longer matter. I say that to be a bit extreme, but it might hold to be true.
The NYC mayoral race includes Andrew Cuomo. He felt it nessisarry to resign based on allegations of sexual misconduct. Maybe it was worse than that, probably, but it further proves my point.
You can’t resign and then immediately run again. I guess from a strictly moral level you’re at least being honest this time, but you can’t just admit to things and then move on immediately.
For some reason you can just admit to a crime and then move on for free?
He didn’t admit to anything as far as I know. He resigned because of the optics, the released a “sorry you misinterpreted my actions” type apology. He’s an unrepentant piece of shit.
The crimes he pled guilty to are also on the books in New York. I’m honestly a bit surprised that we haven’t heard about his arrest yet.
