Lol. It was a complete stream of articles aimed at discouraging voting based on a single issue while never posting anything showing that the other side was going to be worse on the same issue, let alone disastrous for so many other reasons.

Don’t give me the bullshit about posting facts. I never said a thing about lies. It was selective posting to promote an agenda of not voting.

If that agenda influenced even on person not to vote, they were part of the problem. Voting is about choosing the best fit candidate, not the perfect candidate. Working to change the horrible status quo should be done outside of an election in which not voting is helping to usher fascism into the highest offices in this country.

Seeing as you’re calling Biden and Harris neo fascist this entire text is lost on you. Guessing you didn’t vote or aren’t a US citizen, and obviously don’t understand what this country lost by electing dipshit don into the presidency. Both sides are not the same no matter how delusionally you believe they are.

Oh my god, facts! More seriously, nobody this side of Lemmy needs to learn how bad the Republicans are, and that sort of information is everywhere anyway. Nobody needs to be told that Trump is super duper bad, but many need to understand that Democrats won’t save them.

It was selective posting to promote an agenda of not voting.

Or maybe Democrats kept fucking up their campaign in newsworthy ways. If criticism of your camp makes someone the enemy, you should do some serious introspection. Yes, even if your camp is the self-proclaimed defenders of democracy; if you can’t hold your leaders accountable democracy is already dead.

Working to change the horrible status quo should be done outside of an election in which not voting is helping to usher fascism into the highest offices in this country.

That’s been the pitch for longer than I’ve been alive, and guess what? It never happens, because giving up your leverage willingly is a terrible negotiating tactic. Also, given that in America there’s an election every two years, what? Are people just supposed to keep their mouths shut and toe the party line a full 50% of their lives? And specifically the 50% in which they have the most leverage? Starting to smell of free speech zones in here. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Seeing as you’re calling Biden and Harris neo fascist this entire text is lost on you.

Huh? Don’t put words in my mouth; I called them proto-fascist. If they were as bad as the Republicans I would’ve called them fascist.

obviously don’t understand what this country lost by electing dipshit don into the presidency.

I do, but I also understand that kicking the can down the road was going to result in zero improvement whatsoever. You think there wouldn’t have been fascists running with significant support in 2026 and 2028? Fascism never deescalates on its own; the conditions leading to its emergence need to be addressed and neither the Democrats nor Americans as a whole have shown much willingness to do so. Liberal fuck ups are what fuels fascism; if you’re not going to take on the liberals when you can you’ll only get more fascism, not less. Electing Biden certainly did fuckall to stop Trump.

Holy shit It’s honestly amazing how dumbass Americans like you see politicians openly supporting and facilitated the biggest genocide of the 21st century and still refuse to admit they’re fascist because the orange guy is worse.

You guys do not give a shit about the plight of the Third World, which would be okay somewhat if your country wasn’t the biggest terrorist organisation in the world. Designating a huge ass entire genocide as a single issue is a fascist dog whistle in and of itself.

The best thing people like you can do right now is shit on people who called actual fascists out for being fascists instead of actually inspecting where you went wrong. Only now Western Liberals are coming around to calling it what the rest of the world has been calling it for the past two years - a genocide.

With Trump - you guys are only getting a fraction of the pain and suffering that America caused to other countries.

An opinion that is considered slightly radical but still milquetoast - is viewed as “tankiysm” by Americans.

I didnt even go into the fact that you guys literally funded a genocide in my own country. I feel no hesitation in hating your govrnment no matter who is in charge.

You got voting all wrong. Votes put money in people’s pockets. You gotta withhold the money to make them work for you, or the cycle just continues. If it wasn’t Trump this time, he would have run the next time, or some other loser to take his place. Gaza would still be rubble. People still being deported. Abortions still not legal federally. The two party system does not work and needs a reset. Whether that happened last election or a future election, it would lead to a bad time. Life is cyclical.

Okay what people saying this shit never address is where we are now. Exactly how are we better off now? Trump is 1000 times worse than any Democrat and every single day we see that proven further from a shadow of doubt.

Trump is 1000 times worse than any Democrat and every single day

Now that Trump has started to hurt a lot of middle class white people suddenly the pain is a problem. All the pain on minority communities before Trump was fine eh?

How is my reply bad faith?

Your comment minimises all the brutalisation done against minorities, since the biggest difference with Trump is he is doing all that as before, but also targetting white people who were otherwise shielded from the bluntest parts of the US.

If that difference is 1000 times worse then how are you not valuing the comfort of white people above all?

Where we are now is life. Things go up and down. You can’t just keep doing the same thing expecting it to get better when the system doesn’t work that way. Sometimes in life you go through hard times so that the future is better.

I couldn’t have made a better argument against voting against democrats.

It’s gonna get better. Life is cyclical. You can’t expect everything in your life to be rainbows and sunshine. Times will be hard and out of your control. You have to be prepared to deal with that.

Interesting. Since I feel like it’s the 19 year olds who still believe voting against democrats will fix everything, whereas those who are older than that have seen the reality that this plan would never work.

There are two sides of the spectrum. Old people who believe in political parties and young people who want to blow it all up. Always been that way. Old people die. Young people get old shifting their ideologies with them, and the cycle continues.

There was not some single event or entity that caused people to not want to vote in the last election. It was a hive mind. Nobody controls that. It was meant to be.

You deciding to vote for so and so is also part of a hive mind. You are not making that decision yourself. You were always going to do what you did.
