So oddly specific lol… What are some of the others? I don’t know if I’m very good at distinguishing between different types of organs and synths, but Shine on you Crazy Diamond maybe? Or Welcome to the Machine?

Well, I’m a recovering musician. That particular setting on the MiniMoog and the Lesley rotating speakers on the Hammond B3 are super famous, used in a lot of recordings so easy to recognize.

When Floyd recored SIOYCD, it was just before digital hit (FM, sampling), and the band had made enough money that he could use pretty much any synth/organ/electric piano/piano and even more more exotic stuff that he wanted. Rabbit hole on the keys on that record here: https://discuss.cakewalk.com/topic/71945-full-demonstration-of-the-real-keyboards-on-shine-on-you-crazy-diamond/

Both songs share in common the fact that although the keyboard parts are not very difficult, you would miss them very much in the song; it really would not sound at all like the song you know despite these being mostly “background” instruments.
