These texts smell like bullshit. When talking in discord he talks like a Gen Z’er, but when texting his SO he switches to talking like a 40-something? While on the run trying to get away with murder he references all the evidence they’ve found? He references that time he was etching messages onto shell casings and how his dad might be mad he wrapped his grandpa’s gun in a towel and left it in a bush. It’s almost like these messages were fabricated by some dipshit podcasters to help sell their boss’s preferred narrative.

For all the demonization of trans people that the administration and Governor is doing, the actual investigators and local sheriffs seem to be going out of their way to protect the roommate/partner. Yes, she may be transitioning, but the investigators are definitely portraying her as cooperative and as providing key evidence that will be used in the trial. (Even as the news stories are going out of their way to not use any pronouns at all). Imagine how difficult that was for her.
I know seedier parts of the Internet will doxx her (if they havent already), hopefully the local sheriff will provide some protection to her in exchange for doing the right thing

The actual text was weird. Words they used. Everything was laid out conveniently. Like a villain in a movie telling the hero his plan.

I keep thinking of Jin Bubaigawara, aka Twice, and his sad man’s parade. This dude, Tyler, seems to have found love and care with a trans woman after years of being a groyper and a lifetime of sad pepe. So he cast all self preservation aside in order to do what he thought was best for those he cared for…no matter how misguided.
I see this not as a political issue but as a symptom a growing segment of the population with no fucks to give. Lone gunmen, suicide bombers, etc. It’s all coming.

To his MAGA mom, accepting trans folks while retaining every other right wing shit view would be considered ‘leaning left’ because when you start off at the extreme even slightly approaching the center is considered ‘leaning more to the left’.
That isn’t the same as ‘left leaning’ as used by anyone else.

That’s a MAGA mom saying how she felt he had changed in a year.
And could very well be influenced after the fact if the roommate/partner stuff is true. Even if not true, if she just believed it.
It has nothing to do with the headline or anything else, it’s just the mom’s random comment.
And it definitely doesn’t lead to the same conclusion the first account leaped to.

Hell, maybe in highschool he was openly saying to kill anyone LGBTQ, so just tolerating the existence of his roommate would have been “a huge shift left”.
But still not “left leaning” compared to the average American.
Like, it’s weird because if someone needs this explained, they need everything explained.

I have a real hard time believing that someone who was brought up in a Utah religious, guns, law enforcement, MAGA family ended up shooting Charlie Kirk after putting groyper messages on his rounds because he was so far left.
The comment you replied to has no mention of “hours after the shooting”. That’s what te title of the post says. I don’t know if lemmy is acting up and you intended to reply to the main post instead of a comment.
