I’m in Maine. Apparently since I am not under 12 or over 65, do not have a pre-existing qualifying illness, and did not get a prescription from a doctor, I am not eligible to receive a Covid booster. There might be one other requirement I am forgetting.

Tell them you have a common autoimmune disorder like psoriasis or anything qualifying. The pharmacy likely doesn’t care. Some won’t even ask.

There are a few things on that list that could get you what you need. It’s hard to disprove physical inactivity, and drug stores aren’t really in the interrogation business when it comes to vaccines.

Try a different pharmacy or chain. Walgreens only makes you say “yes, I have an eligible condition” and doesn’t make you say which one (from a long list, including mental health conditions, overweight or obesity, or current or former smoker–ever had a puff on a joint? you qualify)

Still need a doctor to give me a script. And this is the only pharmacy closer than 45 miles away. Have you done these things that you are advocating, or is this all theoretical knowledge and supposition?

The point is, you can tell a small lie to the lead pharmacist, and they’ll never know.
