On June 14, 2025, Minnesota state representative Melissa Hortman was assassinated in a shooting at her home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, United States. Hortman, the leader of the state House Democratic caucus, was killed alongside her husband, Mark. Earlier that morning, state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot in their home in nearby Champlin and hospitalized. Police responding to the attack on the Hoffmans checked on the Hortmans’ home, where a man fired at them. The shooter escaped, sparking the most extensive manhunt in Minnesota history.[3]
Fascists always use violence and when/if the people fight back, the fascists ignore everything else and use an isolated incident to justify the same violence they’ve already been doing and we’re always going to keep doing.
They’re scared of violence because it’s the only effective way to fight fascism when the fascists are already in power and control the legal system.
Any American expecting the legal system to hold any of these assholes accountable, frankly doesn’t know what the fuck they’re talking about.

Violence is certainly a way, and not a particularly bsd one, but it’s not necessary the only way. It’s never too late for a general strike.
