His excuse is that it would raise the price of groceries to those who have them delivered. I’m sorry but if you can afford to have your fucking groceries delivered in this economy then you’re not hurting financially and can afford to pay the delivery guy a little bit more money to be your fucking gopher.

If the government didn’t help the disabled with delivery before DoorDash they don’t get to use that excuse now.

yeah definitely, and poverty wages for gig workers isn’t how service is provided, but I was specifically referring to the mild antagonistic tone towards users.

The antagonism should be directed at the companies and government

One more example that our “labor” party is anti-labor and pro-business; awful pay and the worst benefits of the first world, even eastern Europe has more benefits.

After searching, I am now aware of the film “Freaks”, from 1932. I’ll have to take a watch

I always knew it from “South Park”, assumed it was a reference to something else, and never inquired more until now

That being said; maybe just adding a disclaimer to check out the movie “Freaks” would be cool (for those who aren’t aware of the origins). But I wouldn’t always choose to use the “Original Movie Gif”, because there’s so many great variations

A disclaimer would be cool to encourage people to watch the original (just for ‘learning purposes’ at some point), but I wouldn’t knock someone for not disclaiming it. I would probably just reply to them that “the original movie from where that came from is really worth watching”

Unless I watch it and the movie ends up being hot garbage… then I won’t disclaim nor comment about it. Only time will tell, what my feelings will be after I give it a watch. Thank you though for the insight, cause I’m now excited to watch this old, crazy-seeming film. It looks good

i know, didn’t mean to be pedantic, but didn’t feel like writing an essay either.

that movie is amazing because how it fucks with any notion of ableism.

and the fact that they’re are so many references about it is a testimony to it.

and I just want more people to find out and watch it.

Bizzaro was trying to help people though, even in the continuity where he was an unstable clone he was still a good guy. If memory serves in the old DCAU continuity he was put on what amounted to a death world where nothing could hurt him and he loved it, he thought the planets murder animals were cute dogs.

Do not slander my man bizzaro.

Strong support from black churches in NYC. You know how the religious fall in line when the church tells them to do something?

Tough on crime is stupid since 9/10 the crime isnt something that should be tough on, even cases with clear cut good and bad still need tenderness and empathy at least for the victim. I’m a stoic asshole at least externally and even I know you need to show empathy and affection. Though don’t show it to me if I’m freaking out, I’ll think you are trying to manipulate me and I will throw something heavy at you which for relative perspective the heaviest thing I’ve thrown was 200 pounds okay it was more dropping with style but my point stands.

Adams is trash. No one I know (here in NYC) voted for him or even likes him, but I hang out in pretty left wing circles.

Was new to the city, had a bunch of liberal friends who lived in Harlem that supported him and waxed poetic about his potential. The ex-cop thing was seen as a boon, at that point.

Things started going down hill real fast in my eyes when the whole Turkish airlines scandal broke.

In retrospect I should have listened to my other liberal friends who warned me against him. There’s a lot of regret, on my part.
