Governor calls Trump ‘Taco’ online, short for ‘Trump always chickens out’, prompted by president’s flip-flop deadlines

California governor Gavin Newsom says the state will draw new electoral maps after Donald Trump “missed” a deadline on Tuesday night in an ongoing redistricting battle between Democratic and Republican states.

In a letter sent to Trump on Monday, Newsom said he would prefer to leave the matter of congressional map-making to independent commissions, not partisan legislative bodies and emphasized that he would “happily” stand down if other states abandoned their redistricting effort. But, Newsom said: “California cannot stand idly by as this power grab unfolds.”

Several states have waded into the redistricting wars, where Newsom and other Democratic state leaders had threatened to draw retaliatory maps if Texas were to move ahead with its redistricting scheme.

Why does everyone keep saying “third time”? There will likely be no more times. He’s already promised everyone that they’ll never have to vote again. Why do people keep thinking he’ll do less damage than he’s promised?

I’m suggesting that he won’t be leaving office until he is dead.

It won’t be and he won’t be. He has doctors to keep him alive long past his expiration date and drugs to keep him blissfully ignorant and happy. The only thing we will get is the knowledge it is over, but his name is going to live on for so much longer 😩

I agree; however, he has promised no more elections. My point is that he keeps saying he’s going to do all this crazy shit and nobody ever believes him, and then he does it. So you should start believing him.

He also famously never keeps his promises. I would bet on more elections, but the unfair kind. We’ll see, anything is possible - any of the terrible things, I mean.

I’ve already told you. Your “third time” statement implies that there will be an election in the future when he’s promised no more voting.

I’m just saying - people hear what he says and they immediately discount it or think “surely it won’t be as bad as he’s saying,” but it nearly always is. I don’t think that you are completely ignoring his promises, but you’re giving him more slack than you should, and that’s one of the reasons we’re in this mess (not because of you specifically, just people in general).
