over simplification
not like that
if it was a fascist dictatorship, we couldn’t take to the streets.
it’s not over, and i’m not placing all of my faith in the government to correct itself either….
taking to the streets is great, but so is stuff like petitioning and writing to political representatives….
when they start shooting protestors, then it will be a fascist dictatorship.
this is good: https://pocan.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/pocan-introduce-elon-musk-act-ban-federal-government-contracts-special
there are a lot of people in government still fighting back… including federal employees….
the state department flew it’s flag at half mast….
it can feel like we’re defeated, but we’re not… yet….
other people care about the law and are still in the government… you act as if it’s all over.
the laws they’re currently breaking are our best chances of restraining them.
that’s not news to anyone
like when he aggressively attacked USAid first, and they have an open investigation into his starlink contracts with ukraine
they keep saying he’s part of the government, but congress never vetted and confirmed him… he doesn’t have security clearance….
well the problem here is these laws have no teeth other than fines….
if you’re very rich, a fine is just a cover charge… and cheaper than doing it legally anyways.
if someone gets reeeally drunk, they’ll probably sleep… maybe do some sloppy fighting or very risky driving….
if someone does a whole lot of cocaine, they do some crazy shit.
so trump can pardon them?
still it’d be worth it to see elmo in handcuffs do the perp walk
