If you’re seeking something simple to use where you may never need to open the terminal, I’d say ZorinOS(Lite).
You can also test out Debian if you don’t mind a bit of tinkering on the terminal. You’ll have to add yourself as a user to the sudoers list first thing but there are plenty of 2-second video tutorials on how.
For both distros, if you are searching for support, you’d search “on Ubuntu” and basically the same would apply.

Yeah the washing machine app is for the public laundromat. I tried it on GrapheneOS with everything enabled but it was lacking something that is only on stock Google Android. I haven’t tried it on a MicroG phone yet.
I have friends who care about privacy but they need phones that can do Uber and washing machine apps. So I’m the only one i know with a private FOSS phone.
People don’t recommended Windows

First the VM will freeze. Then my whole computer freezes. Then the VM closes and in the Virtual Box menu it says that Windows 11 aborted.
Yeah I have Debian on another VM and it runs with no problems
I once got a pop up ad on an old tablet where the person in the image looked a lot like me. It was so bizarre. I thought it was some AI generated ad. This was like 3 years ago though and I didn’t have Facebook anymore.
I’m going into a Medical Lab Tech program. I know 1 lab tech but he went to school in the 80’s. So I’m not sure what software they use now.
I use it for everyday things like schoolwork and gmail and it works great so far. I still have Librewolf on the side but it seems like it’s for more privacy and that you’re not supposed to change it too much for example adding more extensions or it defeats the purpose of it.
Okay thanks. I’m thinking of sticking with deb packages also at the moment because a lot of apps on the flathub website say “Unverified”
