another advantage of running VMs is the flexibility of changing stuf whenever you decide to try something new. like shuffling new hardware around but you don’t need to get up from the couch, or buy new hardware.

i’m using the screen off trick they mention in the thread. the fix is already done, i’m just waiting for the fixed point release to be pushed.
all that said, linux could use some more “intermediate” tools.
windows is surprisingly decent in that aspect too. service managers, cron managers, startup managers, a good task manager, all by default.
this would help intermediate linux users quite a lot.
there it is!
about the hang, i have the same issue turns out its indeed related to fennec and ublock.
basically they are aware and we are waiting on the fennec team for the fix to roll out.
huh, not showing up on mine. same setup: fennec with ublock origin.
i do have more blocklists than default selected in the settings though. the annoyances and cookie banner ones are specially good.
yes that’s exactly what he is criticizing.
nothing on firefox with ublock origin here.
switching away from linux is the experience that most cements our love for linux.
you start to notice all the garbage you had to put up with all along.
may i suggest revolution?
where do i find me one of those
besides it being funded by three-letter agencies, and using your phone number as an identifier?
glasses and face masks it is then
they finally got what they wanted
we depose them. they can’t try again next year if they are not in power. of course that’s easier said, but there is an out that’s historically effective against abuse of power.
solutions like alternative apps and oses and techniques are always an individualistic bandaid that should be thought of as temporary until they close the loophole.
honestly, i think we need to start thinking about making our own phones. we probably have off the shelf hardware that can run aosp or linux right? and then skip the proprietary crap as much as possible.
honestly i wish we just had a way to pressure google out of this.
i have mine unlocked, but it’s not looking good for the future.
all-out war on custom ROMs (which is a possibility, however unlikely)
its very likely. they already have.
no, they don’t. though if it were that easy we wouldn’t need to worry that much about things like chat control.
they are gonna keep at it until it passes. the only way to stop this is deposing them.
and he wouldn’t be wrong if these people are well, anti fascist.
just a way to criminalize resistance with a swift handwave.
