I’m in the same boat. I am really not interested in Windows 11 at all, especially after using it at work. My primary hesitation has been video game playability in the past but the steam deck has really expanded how many games are playable on Linux and I also play a lot more games on consoles than I did a few years ago

I don’t personally think we’re anywhere close to this point but I imagine the objective is to eat the corporate laptop market. Outside of developers I think there’s a real appeal to giving business users an AR headset and a phone. You don’t have to worry about monitors, keyboards, headsets, etc. It’s significantly lighter and more mobile. Most of what business people do doesn’t need more processing power than a phone has. You could eliminate cubes and just have banks of seats with small desks. Plus imagine the productivity gains when you can literally watch the user’s eyes and prevent them from even looking at non-work items

In America at least most people don’t really consider it until the kid is born. Then in the post birth rush of things happening someone asks if you want to circumcise your kid. Most Dads will say “well I’m circumcised, so I guess” and his dad said “well I’m circumcised, so I guess” and his dad said “well I’m circumcised, so I guess” and his dad said “HE IS BORN OF SIN! Also the problem we have is that Republicans are just straight up ignoring laws. Why would shutting the government do anything different? You seem to assume decorum and laws matter and all evidence says otherwise

1. It doesn’t matter what they do, Republicans will always blame Democrats for everything. They blame Democrats for the results of Republican policy, so why are you concerned about a blame game?

2. Republicans have control of every part of the federal government, The House, Senate, Presidency, and Supreme Court. As long as Democrats just vote no and don’t impede legislation (which they should also do, but I digress), their messaging should be “look how fucking incompetent your leadership is. They have every tool at their disposal and still can’t run a government effectively.” Why is it the Democrats job to assist them? It’s not like Republicans would do the same

I know the answer is that Democrats exist to placate people while Republicans continue enriching the wealthy but man it’d be nice if they grew a fucking spine
