Long term computer programmer, making my own library. American based. Far left politically. Politics centered around promoting use of paper ballots. Follows news about environmental collapse, political corruption in my country, human rights, science and tech.
Love it
I attempted to download a car once, but front wheel got stuck in my router. Was huge mess
It definitely solves many issues!
Will lookup tornado cash
While I can easily imagine the USA splitting up, the fascists are in every community though.
I like the quote from Sontag
10 percent of any population is cruel, no matter what, and 10 percent is merciful, no matter what, and the remaining 80 percent can be moved in either direction. / Susan Sontag
The problem with avoiding the fascists is that they are always everywhere at a low percentage; and a good society requires the equally low percentage of decent persons to convince the vast majority of people to not go rogue.
This requires good governance in local areas; and that is a finicky thing indeed. If the USA splits up, who knows how that goes? I would not put money on any region being bad or good in two generations
Yes, it’s not hard for a full stack developer to make. Probably a thousand people already in the fediverse can, including me.
But it cannot be hosted on USA controlled servers, and the developers need to find a way to be anonymous to USA offices
Edit: also some other issues. Cannot put it as an onion service because most people in the USA do not use tor. This means regular domain.
many people can build it, but most of us have no clue to the obstacles
That is so true
Oh, I have stopped, as of today I am no longer engaging this debate. Hopefully this takes and I don’t spend energy while I figure out what to do
Those are unofficial death camps. Maybe.
I put care and effort into the word ‘official’.
We do not have a Russia next door, which started the war to suppress the same movement in many Russian cities.
Siberia does not count
The Democratic Party shares equal blame. I think my more recent posts the last few years criticizes them without mentioning the Republicans because when trying reform sinners one does not try to save the devil too.
But all my issues with them are moot if most of the country uses private companies to decide primaries and elections without oversight. And when most of the population have no issues with any of that.
But like a little child I still hoped, and offered advice and tried to educate. Now, the time for such things are done.
I’m pretty sure the democrats will win by a landslide next year, and there may even be a democratic president, but it will not change facts on the ground. It’s going to be a bad next few decades
For me, this was inevitable so can only shrug.
Personally I would like a revolution resembling Ukraine, but not possible. And even if there were, most of the population does not understand democracy needs paper ballots counted properly, with recounts. So any revolution will ultimately be more of the same later.
Some countries are simply not cut out for democracy, and I am grateful things as less bad than I imaged. At least there are no official death camps in this bill.
I can only sigh and hope to keep out of political prison for a few more years ; but realistically will probably be arrested this or next year trying to protect neighbors .
Clinton killed more in Iraq with deliberate destruction of water treatment plants, sanctions and attacks on energy grids.
So, I’m just sort of typing without thinking about it much. But Trump will never step down, it’s an impossible demand, but it’s incendiary enough for orange face to not ignore it. This remains in the press cycle because it’s personal to him, there will be constant agitation by police and agencies against the protesters who just stay or regroup.
Assuming the original protesters stay the course, this will attract more and more participants because Trump himself, and the gop, will keep it in the news.
This is a positive growth cycle; eventually the demand will be the entire White House vacate when there enough protestors, and it’s now a revolution, peaceful it may be
5,000 (± some) dedicated people who communicated well with each other and others. Who were willing to just stay in the streets until the government changed. The only one demand given: the president had to step down.
I’ve seen revolutions start with less, but America is large.
Same reason mass murderers get airtime. Entertainment and horror.
This guy has already broken hundreds of laws, and will continue to harm many. He is from the super rich , and will have a life of luxury, superb health care and will outlive most of his critics. Is that not news worthy enough ?
When I tried to find out the process for getting on a list like that, earlier, i found out it involved at least partially cold calling.
I think the survey companies are compensating for people answering less, by using complex models they keep as trade secrets . It’s not an easy process to understand even with complete openness and transparency. And it’s impossible for an outsider to verify.
Asking the legitimate real questions
Pretty sure means don’t know.
I grew up on pew data; I was disappointed years ago when they stopped using face to face interviews.
Later, I could not get a good answer about how they dealt with the scam epidemic the last few years
I’m beginning to think most polling companies in the USA have serious flaws in their methodology because of changes in the last few years, and they’re not going back to in person questions.
But these are institutions now in the USA, so most people assume they know what they are doing.
I have yet to understand how surveys compensate for most people ignoring unknown phone calls or texts. The ones who do answer are not representative of the total population.
I know some of people who were hit by scam surveys the last year, which are common too. Those scams scare some people away even from snail mail invites.
I think until these methods explained slowly, in small words, I am going to assume this is biased to older and more gullible , those who drift towards Trump.
Several generations, probably, hundreds of years, at least. A minority of Jews tore up something that cannot be regenerated easily, while true antisemitism lives on for as long as Christianity exists.
