It seems like their maths won’t check out. They already estimate 66% of current residents to move on to other facilities (guess they don’t have licensed care takers as relatives to take them all in), yet seem to calculate with saving all the costs. Ultimately they’ll push more work towards the other facilities without any intention of financing additional staff which will not work in the long run.

I remember back in the day in history class we’d discuss if murdering a tyrant is morally wrong and how it should be treated by the law. The class pretty much agreed if you 360 quick tomahawk someone who causes millions of deaths it’s fair game.
I always found it interesting how Scandinavians celebrate their viking past. Viking culture in general is rather popular even though the core of their identity was pillaging and raping people. My best guess is that it’s a mixture of distance (time) and vibes. Dropped some bombs and killed 3000 people? On to the next news. Flew some planes into a few buildings and cause the same amount of deaths? Never forgetti.
From my understanding it’s a very poor nation with a deeply corrupt leadership. Said leaders are taking the opportunity to make money from industrialized incarceration without any oversight. The US president is openly breaking the law by deporting people there but has nothing to worry about anyway because the harshest form of protest the american people can think of is a passive aggressive tweet (that will generate ad revenue for the biggest monetary Trump supporter). The best part of this is that once people are there he can just raise his hands and say “well I can’t get them back, they’re outside the US!”

I didn’t look into how the editor got invited but think of how easy it is to get a random number invited to a signal group chat. It doesn’t take much social engineering to slip a number in there with this chaotic oh no wait DISRUPTIVE administration. No authentication required. Many people who have been in abusive work situations know that there’s a point when you should leave but the constant drain from the abuse keeps you in a state of exhaustion that prevents any action. It’s often only once this makes you so physically sick that you have to take the time off and realize this can’t go on any longer.
I believe this is the zone where Amazon wants to keep their employees. Fully exhausted, given up on any possible improvement.
