I’m not, though. I’m a US citizen residing in the United States, the country of my birth, my parents birth, their parents birth, and their parents birth. And even further back than that.
There have been all sorts of asylum programs, DACA, pathways to citizenship, etc.
DACA was repealed almost 15 years ago and there hasn’t been any sort of amnesty program since, or even the glimmerings of it being a possibility.
Trump recently cancelled a program that was protecting 200,000 people from countries like Venezuela.
Then I guess Venezuelans had ample warning that it was time to return to their country.
Now, even people with Green Cards, or even CITIZENSHIP, are being scrutinized

You would have to be capable of thought and knowledge to “explain something to me”, and you aren’t.
What undocumented person thought they were “protected” and why on Earth would they think that? There’s not a nation on Earth where you have an entitlement to remain forever except those nations where you are a citizen.
Who gives a shit, they are people.
If you had a rule at your house that nobody could put their feet on the couch, and you had a guest that kept putting his feet on the couch and when you reminded him he was a guest and needed to follow the rules, he just said “who cares how I got here? I’m a person” how long would you permit them to remain a guest in your home?
Plenty of others don’t have those advantages, but they still want to improve their lives, or escape from terrible political or criminal oppression.
Lots of people want lots of things that the law does not permit them to have, and what it means to live under the rule of law is that you just don’t get to have those things. Civil order is more important than any individual’s well-being however greatly it might be improved by the act of moving to another country and totally disregarding their laws.
I’m not an immigrant, though. And it doesn’t matter what “MAGA” recognizes or does or thinks or believes; US courts distinguish between legal residency and undocumented presence and that isn’t ever going to change.
You’re the one saying we should stop making that distinction.
