Even if the straits open tomorrow, planting season is ending with out the needed fertilizer. Smelters and pot lines for aluminum, iron and glass are going cold. They can’t just be restarted, cold idle make them giant bricks and damages them. Pharmaceutical manufacturing is shutting down, and also can’t just be restarted. Clean rooms must be re-certified before restart. Similar problems for micro chips production that uses helium from the gulf.

The example you need is called Zoom, or face time or… Really this is just covid all over again.

Not “could”, it has. The spring planting season is ending. The effect may not have shown up yet, but famine and recession are already baked in. Mostly in Africa and Asia.

Is anyone even remotely surprised? Money is all that motivates both republican and democratic parties.

I’m in the usa, and I even know there are already extensive fuel shortages in Australia. Mostly due to Australia’s refusal to keep the required 90 strategic reserve or have any refineries.

PS: Yes I know this is all trump’s fault, but Australia and New Zealand seem to have just refused to prepare for the inevitable.

Iran has a thousand miles of coast line, it’s a huge rugged, mountainous country. Also trump is letting Iran oil tanker leave unmolested, and they are returning laden with munitions, again unmolested. We aren’t even blockading them. WTF are ground troops supposed to do.

The best theory I’ve heard so far is that trump doesn’t want the war to end, because he is using it like the tariffs last year with the TACO trade, to make insider trades in the stock and futures markets. He is literally killing US troops and Iranian children just to make money.
