Can’t deny this.

I come from a family of MAGAts and when they’re angry at something they make sure everyone knows it. They boycott aggressively, tell all their friends and family to do the same and they do not let up.

My friends and fiancee are really, really bad about these things in comparison. I’m sure our canceled subscriptions will be back in 3-4 months.

It’s something all the right wing grifters will realize at some point.

These people have no purpose if Trump forces all the news networks in the country to say whatever he wants. He no longer requires any of their services as mouthpieces.

As much as many of us would welcome it, the reality is that the new MAGA country would declare war on us immediately.

Besides being cowards the few magats with brains also realize that they do not actually want all out war.

If they start shoving large parts of the country, then those parts are going to shove back. It’s significantly easier to keep going at slower pace that invites less resistance. They’re going to work towards disposing smaller circles of groups they dislike until they feel comfortable enough to deal with the rest of us.

That’s what a lot of us are waiting for unfortunately.

The Trump regime has been moving very quickly to consolidate power, and they didn’t even have a casus belli. Now they have one. In the conservative mind Charlie Kirk has become a martyr who must be avenged.

They’ll be rigged even if he has to station troops at every voting location in the country.

Never forget, he promised everyone that they’d never have to vote again.

It’s been happening in the real world for a long time.

There’s all sorts of anti-homeless architecture out there such as changing benches to make sleeping on them uncomfortable, or adding spikes anywhere on the ground someone might seek shelter. We waste so much money and time attempting to make these poor peoples lives more miserable when all of that could have gone towards simply removing the issue of homelessness.

We’re really going back to behaving like we’re living in the middle ages. Your wife can’t conceive? Time to find an excuse to get rid of her as that’s one of her only purposes and you need a heir.

These aren’t even red flags at this point. It’s a blaring siren.

I’m more surprised it took them this long to realize that they can just do this and his cult will believe it.

Not sure if they’ll even list anyone that’s actually guilty, regardless of party loyalties. This is just an assumption, but I assume that some of these people visited the island at the same time as the others. In that case outing even a single individual could lead to them inevitably naming and shaming others that have been too. They wouldn’t risk that.

That should really not be legal.

It shouldn’t be allowed, but unfortunately the immigration court system has always been fucked.

Immigration courts don’t operate under Article 3. They’re run by the DOJ and the AG. I probably don’t have to say much more there. It’s always been awful, but given the current administration you can assume that it’ll be even worse than usual.

The narrative has been changing slowly over time.

And there has been at least one public case involving him and Epstein.

We all know he’s guilty, and there is no way he is going to self-incriminates himself. The Epstein files will never see the light of day unless someone leaks them.

While this is true, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re open to it or that the immigration process is any easier for it.

I’ve heard that attitude is changing due to gentrification issues. Lots of remote workers have taken to the country and cost of living has apparently risen up in response.

I’m not entirely sure about either of these personally though(insight from people who live there would be wonderful), but I have heard about about the issues.

This hurt me to watch and it hurts me to see people supporting Trump’s actions.

Suppose for whatever reason that you do disagree with providing more aid. Was humiliating the leader of another nation in this manner justified at all? Were these the actions that any reasonable, dignified leader would make? You could have just refused to meet with him and told him no. Instead they dehumanized him, made him grovel and beg for support from their king full well knowing he was just going to say no anyways.

I keep trying to look for some good in the people of this nation, to see that there’s still some humanity left, but I don’t think there is at this point.

Like I said elsewhere, everyone is really just waiting for him to come after the federal judges who have been holding back his EOs. The DOJ is currently being torn apart, but he’ll get there eventually.

Right, and the puppet in charge will be rather obvious. The only other candidate that would win in a fair Ukrainian election is even more aggressive about opposing Russia than Zelenskyy, but since this is going to be rigged neither of those will win.

(for those curious: the Ukrainian constitution prohibits electing a president during war, it’s especially hard with 20% of the country under hostile control; and regarding Zelensky’s rating, it’s about 70% currently)

A lot of Ukrainians have also fled the country, it makes no sense to organize this before ending the war. Why do we have to have this discussion? They are at war, marshal law is common during times of war to keep your country unified during these periods. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have vast oceans between them and their adversaries to allow for elections of their highest office to continue uninterrupted.

Nah that wasn’t my intention. It’s true that they’re similar, but I’ve mostly been watching American politics.

I really hope Europe starts making some moves.

From the moment he won the election until now we’ve seen a lot of world leaders attempting to make nice with him and appease him. It should be clear now that he cannot be appeased nor will his ego ever be satisfied. He is going to take and take and take until other countries start telling him no and laying out boundaries that they’re willing to strictly enforce if need be.

It’ll take time before the damage starts to really, really be felt.

Federal judges across the country have issued injunctions on everything he’s been writing up at this point. We’re all just waiting for what is left of our legal process to finish, if it’s allowed to do so given the current state of things. These judges will hopefully drag their feet on any ruling. If the appeals court does the same then you’ve got a while before the scotus can do Trump’s bidding.

Inevitably when the process either finishes or Trump bullies these people out of their posts it’ll take about a month or two. When social services get cut so that people aren’t getting their social security, can’t access or afford medications and whatever else he’s cooked up they’ll cry. They probably won’t point the finger in the right place though.
