Firing volunteers to save money… What?
We didn’t have all these problems when a gay man was in charge. ☕
Yeah, Trump’s insiders leveraged before the pump and sold afterward.
Is doing research “thug life” now?
To be fair, it’s worth gathering the evidence. There are people who still believe that Elon is a free speech advocate.
That’s an interesting perspective on things and gives me something to think about.
True, it’s just a voting system. It can’t do those things unless people vote for those things to happen.
The thing RCV does do is break us out of the control of a 2-party government. So we could have a communist party with RCV, but can’t in our current system.
I think our opinions on the law are irrelevant here. The SOCTUS said it’s lawful for the president to impose tariffs. So the only way to change the SOCTUS decision is to pass another law making it explicit that the president doesn’t have these powers.
How are you measuring useless?
Australia has RCV and has more than 2 active political parties.
It’s up to the states. It already implemented in Maine and Alaska, with a majority of people in those state approving of it.
It’s kind of why we need Ranked Choice Voting.
I’m not a lawyer so I can’t interpret the law. However, the judicial branch can and there haven’t been any rulings which have indicated that the president didn’t have the power to set tariffs.
Another law would be needed to be passed so judicial rulings could say the president didn’t have this power.
I’m not sure if this is true. It was delegated to the executive branch starting around 1930.
Yeah 2/3 of congress can end the whole trade war. This is just showmanship.
China has the edge, here. Its communist single-party system and centralized planning allow them to quickly adapt. The US, as a democracy, moves slower making it harder to change. I think China knows this, and they’re betting the U.S. will cave first.
To be fair it’s not just Trump. 2/3 of congress could step in at any time to take tariff powers away from the president, but they choose not to.
I would say that he said the quiet part out loud, but he has been saying the quiet part this whole time.
I’m surprised it wasn’t crypto.
I actually think she’s pretty well spoken. A lot of people clip her just to farm outrage, but honestly, we’ve seen (especially with Trump) that out-of-context clips don’t really shift public opinion much anymore, they just reinforce whatever people already believe.
