“Good” is in the eye of the beholder. Have you considered that the quality hasn’t changed much, but instead you’ve become more discerning as you age? I certainly have far less tolerance for the stupid shit I used to think was funny long ago.

That’s pretty much is a requirement for the far-right, no?
You can counter that by stroking the ego: tell him he looks more handsome in natural lighting.
“I’m so happy he’s gone I could use my equipment as a pole extender!”
Good point, thanks.
Glad to help. As the OP article apparently indicates, infighting over relatively inconsequential things serves no positive purpose. Let’s help each other get to where we want to be instead.
Take care, and goodnight.
Do you always take the time to think out, and craft the wording of your comments to perfectly convey your intended meaning? It’s already quite obvious that you don’t. None of us do. We’re humans, after all.
As such, some empathy and reading between the lines is required to have a constructive conversation rather than having things devolve into pointless bickering and finger-pointing. It’s pretty obvious to me (and likely many others) that they were referring to a specific subset when they mentioned the red hats - I’m sure deep down you knew that, too. I get why you’re angry - I’m angry about the direction this country has been taken over the past several decades, too - but take it out on those who deserve it instead.
Have some understanding for those on the outside who don’t see the nuance of the differing factions inside the US, but instead just see “America’s forcing their will upon someone again” - like those concerned with Trump’s recent actions against Venezuela must feel right about now. Inside every country there are factions who disagree with their respective governments. Every time you disparage Israel, Russia, China, etc., do you bother to be precise in who you’re criticizing - especially every time you make such comments? I highly doubt it, and if I’m right then your anger directed at someone else doing exactly the same is nothing but hypocritical.
If so, then he should automatically be disqualified from office. Besides, it’s hard to be understanding of that when the MAGAt faithful hang on his every word & are ready to attach anyone who even just utters the word “but…”.
Yeah, they keep getting in the way with their insistence upon “truth & justice” - all Trump wants is “the American way” (or is that “war”?), which has nothing to do with either of those things.
Do you identify as a “red hat wearing backwater inbred”? If so, then my apologies - feel free to carry on.
When you criticize another country’s aggressive actions, are you directing it at every random citizen of that country regardless of whether they support their government’s actions? If you’re as informed as you claim, then you know there are protests even in Israel against their government’s genocidal actions. Look at the big picture, and understand generalizations are unlikely to be targeted at you personally if you don’t fit the description of those they’re referencing.
If only that were actually so.
Well, then don’t be surprised when your lack of appreciation for perspectives from other points of view ring too much like a MAGAt’s to be easily discernable from such. It wasn’t directed at you personally, but you choose to take it as such.
While I understand and agree America has set itself up for this, try to remember MAGAts are only slightly less than half the population (an overly aggressive half, to be sure). Us “woke” people are being forced to suffer for MAGAts’ collective sins, too.
America has been pissing all over the world for something along the lines of at least a century now. We’ve done at least as much damage as good (just look at our absurd levels of support for Israel as they gleefully openly commit genocide). It should not come as a shock that our comeuppance is being treated as overdue by the world at large.
It’s just a shame those of us “woke” enough to understand this & who more than likely would have done things much differently have to suffer along with those that actually deserve it for supporting such crappy behavior.
Political violence has been happening for… well, ever. If we’re talking recent history, Trump’s own attorney general chosen FBI Director from his first term testified to Congress after Jan 6 that right-wingers are nearly 2.5x more likely to be the ones doing it. And they have been.
EDIT: I later remembered that I gave the wrong job title to Christopher Wray. My memory has never been great, and it’s getting worse as I age. sigh
Yeah, corporate greed overrides good sense far too often. This is the truth that conservatives who constantly rail against “big government over-regulation” like to ignore because money is more important to them than human lives. At least with (properly enforced) regulations all companies are on the same playing field, and none of them are placing themselves at a financial disadvantage compared to others by doing “the right thing” since the regulations demand they all do so.
Yes, but even their most ardent supporters can’t “justify” this one, so hopefully some more will join the growing resistance. Republicans keep doing short-sighted shit that chips away at their base of support, which is why they’re trying to rig elections until they can ultimately find a way to do away with them entirely. Hopefully, enough of their base gets “woke” enough to stop them before then.
The problem with it is the fact he reacts like all bullies do: he’ll have a temper-tantrum and do more despicable things even harder than before as an analog to stomping his feet in anger.
