It’s not a war crime when you aren’t fighting a war. This is a regular, old fashioned, normal crime.

NATO was dragged into Afghanistan, not Iraq. Many NATO countries didn’t participate in Iraq.

If you want to play the blame game, the blame falls on everyone. The right is pushing to make things actively worse, the center is willing to just put up with whatever the current status quo is, and the left would rather spend all their time attacking one another for being the wrong brand of left, rather than actually go out and do something productive.

Again, being aware of your own limitations and doing what you can is preferable to faking it, and falling apart when it counts.

If you read the rest of the article, she addresses that. She doesn’t believe that she is personally brave enough to physically confront what is coming, so for her, the choice is get out now while she can and be vocal.

The scary part is that there absolutely is logic to it. They’re still just slightly short of being willing to say that part out loud.
