For a nation that is all about personal freedom, they sure spend a lot of time telling other people what to do in areas that don’t really matter. Even for the sake of military uniformity, facial hair must be maintained and groomed seems like an acceptable stance. Anything else is just power tripping.
I recently got an update on my phone where I can start recording with a tap. It does play a recording so both parties know it’s being recorded, so it would be applicable in a two-party consent jurisdiction (hang up if you refuse).
Also, over a decade ago when I was mucking about in LineageOS, I’m pretty sure there was an app you could install if you were in a one-party consent jurisdiction, which would not notify the person you were recording.
I wonder if part of it is people who had plans made already didn’t change them. Next year will give us a better idea. I do know some people who traveled to the US to visit friends, and I get it, but even they are saying they’re done and their friends can come here instead.
Is that the sliding pipe gun? I think all you need is materials, a hack saw, and a drill. But with a machine shop, the materials list is just steel and some springs, and you can have a gun as good as any we had prior to the last century.
Reminds me of a time when I went to a maker space open house, and they were showing all kinds of cool stuff, including fairly advanced 3D printers for time. They mentioned there was programming to halt prints of things like gun parts, so it would be very hard to make guns using them. I commented, “Besides, you can make better ones in the metal shop in the other room.” He replied, “Yeah! <brief pause> No!”
Some of them are pretty well marbled. I’m not saying they taste like wagyu, but there’s only one way to know for sure…
