This political violence is not a series of isolated incidents and does not emerge organically. Instead, it is a culmination of sophisticated, organized campaigns of targeted intimidation, radicalization, threats, and violence designed to silence opposing speech, limit political activity, change or direct policy outcomes, and prevent the functioning of a democratic society.
A quote directly from the order in question, oh how correct it is.

Hey hey, don’t lump the satanists in with these pieces of shit, they are actually generally pretty cool in my experience.

I would guess there are two reasons: a) Alex Jones isn’t making public appearances to my knowledge, and b) Jones has already been pretty well destroyed by the legal system.

Wasn’t there a bit in that old political documentary/comedy Yes Minister about how a mandatory ID scheme was one of the most politically suicidal things a politician could propose, much less actually attempt to implement?

It feels like everyone is focusing too hard on that one word: communist. To me it’s very clear the sentiment behind what she said was that Trump is acting exactly like the dictatorial leaders of the communist nations that America has been fighting against and villainizing for the last 50 years: the USSR, north Korea, communist China, etc.

There was Admiral Watkins, the anti-gay catholic admiral that Reagan put in charge of investigating the AIDS epidemic. IIRC he gave some extremely reasonable proposals that Reagan promptly ignored.

The mistake was running a geriatric against Trump back in 2020. It was a losing move for Biden to stay in the race as long as he did, it would have been just as much of a losing move to hold a primary before he left the race, and there wasn’t enough time to hold a primary once he did step back. If the president hadn’t been 81 years old and was in a stable mental state they wouldn’t have needed to leave the race, and Trump would most likely have lost. Fingers crossed whoever runs against the republicans next time (assuming there is a next time) learns from that mistake and platforms someone in their 50s instead.

I think we would be closer to all those things than we are now, having backslid on every single one of those metrics since Trump took office.

I’m confused, are we on step 1 or step 4 of the narcissist prayer right now?
1: That didn’t happen. 2: And if it did, it wasn’t that bad. 3: And if it was, that’s not a big deal. 4: And if it is, that’s not my fault. 5: And if it was, I didn’t mean it. 6: And if I did, you deserved it.

Every single cold war era president would be spinning in their graves.

What does that mean “temporarily”!? How do you temporarily fire someone?

The difference between a tour of DC and a tour of Pyongyang is that you are allowed to just leave the city and go where ever you want in the US, so long as access isn’t restricted because it’s a literal military base. Thing’s aren’t great everywhere in the US, just as with every country, but at least the US doesn’t have a state censorship machine preventing people from talking about the less well off people (well, not yet anyway).

The North Korean tour program is much more a propoganda play than anything to with them acknowledging that people are going to try to sneak in anyway. It very intentionally only shows tourists the most inoffensive parts of the country.

Hey hey, it is still possible that there are environmental factors that make the genetic causes more or less likely to result in full autism. Kennedy certainly hasn’t found any of those though.

I’m not advocating for someone to assassinate him, but many people think someone should.

Unfortunately I don’t think that’s how algorithm development works, not if you want to make a fair one.

It was a thing on 7 as well.

Hundreds of miles of them? Forget cost, the wiring wouldn’t hold up under all the power that would need to flow through it.
You mean like the $40 billion offered to Argentina by Trump?
