I do wonder if Vance would stop the Iran war if Trump died.

He holds some pretty nasty views, but I don’t think he’s anywhere near as insane as Trump. There was an interview during Trump #1 where he actually disagreed with quite a bit of Trump’s shit IIRC.

That doesn’t mean that I think he’d be a good president or that he’s a good human being. Just that he might be quite different than Trump. Probably continue or accelerate the ICE bullshit, but maybe stop the stupid ass war in Iran?

The Iran War seems likely to be a result of Trump’s fancy though, not a move chosen by Trump’s puppeteers.

While Vance is a puppet of Thiel, this is not a zero sum game. Vance would probably do less damage than Trump.

It was chosen by Netanyahu, who has been pushing for it for a long time. Trump’s people are just the first US administration stupid enough to agree to do it without realizing what he’s getting them into.

trump’s handlers only care about 2 things, securing the reigns of power and gaming to stock/futures markets. every republican administration the last 50 years has started a war…

Everybody but Trump knew that Iran would close the strait of Hormuz. Which made it incredibly stupid to go to war with Iran. For reasons which are right now self evident, not that they were not evident before.

So no, nobody but a mentally declining idiot like Trump would have gone to war with Iran.

A Shakespeare quote is relevant here, about those blowhards:

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

It allowed unserious people to sound tough on Iran on TV. But until Trump, there were no chance of them actually going through with it, if given power. They truly had to ignore even the most basic of Iran expertise, known even to laymen like me.
