To be honest, that’s kind of an unimaginative reading.

Nothing says the censers being thrust down from heaven have to be meteorites. They could be orbit-to-surface missiles.

Likewise, the “locusts” described aren’t necessarily an insect infestation. They might just as easily be drone swarms.

You know, if we’re taking the book of revelation seriously, at least…

Well, Artemis II can do a flyby of the Alien Space Nazi Moonbase on the dark side and that will get the meteorites going. I’m not sure how he’ll manage the locusts. Genetically modified grasshoppers?

They blew up a Starlink satellite a couple days ago; the debris will be reentering the atmosphere over the next couple days.

The term “locust” refers to “insect plagues” in general rather than mutated grasshoppers in particular. There is a new, mutated COVID variant circulating in 25 states that was nicknamed “Cicada”.

Fun fact, there are only two continents without swarming locusts. Antarctica and North America.

The Rocky Mountain Locust went extinct sometime around 1900, which was some 30 years after the largest swarm ever recorded for any species of locust.
