When Obama started his second term, he asked RBG to step down, so he could appoint a new justice going into his second term. She refused, knowing that Hillary Clinton was going to run for president after Obama. RBG wanted to be able to say that she served with the first woman president. So she refused to step down, and Obama didn’t get to replace her when he had ample time to do so.
