Linux is open source, it’s always optional. On the other hand, if it becomes necessary in order to access popular web content, some users will demand it.

Everybody uses Arch btw, can’t quit Vim, <loves/tolerates/hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
