And this is why I don’t feel like I can watch the new Harry Potter series. It would be one thing if Rowling’s views weren’t having a real harmful impact on people. But trans people are facing likely genocide in the near future because people like Rowling spread hate and misinformation. Transphobic people will watch the genocide happen and they will continue to ignorantly laugh and say trans people are playing pretend and that they aren’t victims of any hate or discrimination
