True, but I will say this, it doesn’t matter how old any of them are or even if they fought in WW2; many of them still held very shitty views of anyone that was poor or not white. Most of the people in power during the Civil Rights movement were WW2 vets and they did not stop being racist after defeating fascism.
You are not wrong at all. Sadly though, when Communism became the head issue, most anti-fascist rhetoric and ideas went out the window including actually punishing all former Nazis.
