However, Don McGowan, Pokémon’s former chief legal officer, told the gaming website IGN that he “wouldn’t touch this,” predicting it would “blow over in a couple of days,” citing the company’s aversion to publicity and noting “many of their execs in the USA are on green cards.” When asked by the Beast whether it intended to take legal action against the Donald Trump administration over the piracy, the Pokémon Company International declined to comment. At the time of publication, the DHS video remained online.

Nintendo, too cowardly and defenseless to resist fascism one moment and the next moment powerful and spiteful enough to hunt down and brutally destroy hobbiests who use emulators and indie game companies.

Let me clarify, I am not expecting Nintendo to stand up and fight for democracy, they obviously don’t give a shit.

What I am reacting too is how pathetically these companies turn over and just take it from fascists, again not thattt surprising but I would expect Nintendo to be LIVID about their IP being used like this. I know Nintendo doesn’t want to rock any boats, but ignoring this makes every single damn thing they have done to defend their IP in the past look stupid and just a chance to punch down they just couldn’t pass up.

International companies deal with all sorts of governments, from China and Russia to France and the UK. They learn to survive in whatever political environment they find themselves in.

The fact that they’re not fighting back here tells us more about the US government than it does Nintendo’s leadership. They’ve done the cost/benefit analysis. They can’t fight against an entire nation with its limitless resources.

This isn’t “Nintendo being gutless” as much as it is “The canary in the coalmine is dead”.

No, it also tells us about Nintendo too, they could most certainly fight, this is a choice and I think it is worth noting.

We haven’t learned anything about Nintendo that we didn’t already know. They’re a self-interested money-making enterprise that has no morals or ethics. Like all companies.

It’s the why that is important though. They know they’ll lose because the system is corrupted against them. If Trump turns his eye on them and uses the power of the United States Fucking Government against them then they’re toast. They know this. It’s cheap to apologize and forget about it.

      Thanks, will send.

Read on Reddit that ice broke no laws technically. So it is on us to boycott them.
