You need to understand politics better at a fundamental level. Lawyers do not make winning modern politicians. Theater majors do. Charismatic business majors do.

Jon just happens to also know shit from decades of calling out corruption and pushing for change.

It’s not sustainable to just run politicians because their entertainment background makes them electable. Sometimes they need to make difficult decisions. It’s gotta stop some time

Maybe I would have supported Stewart running in 2024 against Trump, particularly with hindsight advantage. Fight fire with fire.

Of course I would also vote Stewart over any modern Republican, because those guys can do some damage

But with Trump not running in 2028, I don’t see a similar celebrity on the Republican ticket. I’m still dealing with a bad hangover from Kamala Harris 2024, but I would rather see her in office and making those tough decisions than Stewart, because she has the experience doing so.

with Trump not running in 2028

He’s already trampled several constitution articles and amendments, why do you think the 22nd would stop him? Literally who would enforce it?

Trying to keep some semblance of normalcy in the assumptions I make. Some people would find it laughable that an honest election would happen.

Really it doesn’t matter who is president they well not know everything. A good leader would surround themselves with knowledgable people and take their advice.

You guys need to stop electing celebrities ffs

You’re not wrong, but I don’t see a lot of better options on the table and the guy at the very least understands politics and seems to be resistant to being owned.
