Two years after a limited release, German sportswear brand adidas is putting the CLIMACOOL LACED into wide circulation, available globally from March 3, 2026 online and in stores. The shoe is built us
When I was a little girl in the early 90s, there was these very common popular sandals that were everywhere. Sometimes they were called “jelly sandals”.
They were made out of this semi transparent flexible plastic.
They were quite cute. There was 2 main styles. One with a strap with a metal buckle. The other, more like a ballet flat shoe
Now I bring this up because these sandals were the worst shoes that I have ever worn in my life. Childhood trauma shoes.
Plastic like that, making direct contact with your feet will give you blisters in pretty much every location of your foot that shifts inside the shoe when walking.
I’m talking on top of the toes. Side of the toes. Side of the heel. Back of the heel. On the ball of the foot in at least 2 locations. And whenever else.
Whenever I see the promotion of 3d printed shoes and know what tpu feels like (very close to the jelly sandals) I am reminded of summer pain and blisters. And also of feet getting stuck sometimes from suction from sweat.
I just don’t think 3d printed shoes are going to work out.

Wear socks with the shoes?
Sure but the point of sandals is to not wear socks.
But yes socks definitely help.
