It’s going to become a moot point because there are several huge agencies who are chomping at the bit to have an excuse to monitor your computer from the inside and report all your browsing habits among other personal details to some giant AI system designed to isolate and flag anyone who might be a threat to the Empire.

They already have this kind of program, but having it out in the open will make it so much easier to make sure every computer user in the country is tagged and monitored.
