For all the Trump administration’s talk of saving money and increasing “government efficiency,” the president demanded that huge amounts be appropriated in the Republicans’ recent budget bill to fund his mass-deportation program.
In all, $170 billion was set aside to be spent over the next four years for border and immigration enforcement. This total includes $45 billion to create a sprawling detention system (nearly five times the annual budget for the Bureau of Prisons), $30 billion for ICE operations, $46.6 billion for more border wall construction, and, as if that weren’t enough, a new $10 billion border patrol slush fund.
This level of funding is unprecedented. ICE is now the highest-funded law enforcement agency in the country. And that fact raises a question: What exactly are they going to do with all that money?
As, eh, someone living in Russia - comparisons of the Russian military with the IDF are at this point unjust. It fights a war of aggression, and it does that the Soviet way, which is imprecise and costly in lives of civilians. But it doesn’t intentionally starve a whole city, shooting at those coming for aid it pretends to provide and intent on “deporting” them entirely.
Just to make it clear, the whole situation sucks, and there is a right and a wrong side, but not comparable with Gaza.
Oh no, I agree. There is no more evil entity than the IDF and Israel and it’s not even close. USA would come in second… The reason I chose Russia - other than being of the conviction that it’s 100% a war of aggression started by Putin to stay in power - is the story of that American dad who joined the Russian army to “escape wokeness” and has now deservedly died.
