More than half of Americans believe that Immigration and Customs Enforcement has gone “too far” in its pursuit of arresting migrants, according to a new poll.
While 54 percent said ICE has used its power too aggressively, the sentiment was even greater among Democrats at 83%, according to a poll by PBS News, NP and Marist.
Nearly half of Republicans, by contrast, said ICE’s actions are appropriate and an additional 31% said the agency had not gone far enough in enforcing Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda.
The vast majority of Americans (80%) support the U.S. government’s deportation of migrants without permanent legal status who have been convicted of a violent crime.
Their opinion doesn’t count, as long as the big corporations and racist lobbyists are happy, the people’s will means nothing.
The Trumpistan party doesn’t intend to be elected ever again. That’s their last attempt. They try to take the country by a coup now. They don’t intend to face any votings, ever again. That’s why they’re acting like this.
Exactly, that’s where I was trying to get to, is there a plan, general strike, mass protests to cripple the country? Or is it going to be a wimper into the goodnight…
Project 2025 had martial law as one of the final or near final steps. We’re almost there.
When all the madness started I was reminded of an 80’s movie called Red Dawn. Although this isn’t a traditional invasion, I’m quite dissapointed in Americans response so far.
That’s only when the wealthy own both parties…
They don’t control the DNC anymore, and trying to make trump do what you already paid him to do is an exercise in futility.
Shit looks bad for everyone right now, including the wealthy.
Which is why the media is pushing people to disengage from politics.
Don’t do what billionaires want you to do, it’s never in your favor.
As a non American I’m not sure how you’re going to overcome this, if the bill passes the house you’ve essentially given Trump a loyal private army given the ICE budget and it doesn’t look like anyone has the stomach to do what’s needed in opposition. Democrats are still attacking Mamdani lol, the system is beyond corrupt.
The felon king is completely unaccountable. I definitely don’t see this going well.
Some elected politicians with a D by their name are.
And frankly I don’t think they’ll be in office much longer.
Like, as an American who has been paying attention since the DNC defended Bill lying about getting a BJ from an intern:
This is the most optimistic I’ve been about the Dem party except for the brief window between Obama winning the 08 election, and then him saying he wouldn’t name a DNC chair.
I can go on a big rant with details on why we should be optimistic about the party and the country if you want, but if you’re ok with recycling I can link you an old comment.
It’s fucking weird to spend this much time defending the DNC, but people need to understand the chair is the DNC. And we’ve got a really fucking good chair since February, and he is already doing shit.
Do you think there will be a midterm election given all that’s happening and the speed this administration is userping power?
Yep.
And if elections are cancelled, I think enough people move on to the next of the four boxes.
Good luck! I personally have a bad feeling but I’m not American, it looks very bad from here.

Americans can do it. Bring guns!
1/3 can, 1/3 will fight them and the remaining will watch from the sidelines
Yes please
I’ve seen nothing but criticism of Ken Martin

And from your link:
There’s a lot more than a dozen DNC members who hate him…
He literally just got two super delegates from the Rules and Bylaws committee to resign…
https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/dnc-union-leaders-leave/
They were literally the ones fucking with presidential primaries, and now they’re no longer part of the DNC in any capacity…
Like, if you agree that past iterations of the DNC were giant pieces of shit, how are you surprised that there’s still some DNC members from that period who are pissed they’re no longer in control?
Logically this is a good thing that some are mad at Ken and completely leaving the party.
This is what we wanted.
The issue is billionaire owned media didn’t want this, so they’re presenting it backwards.
And people are falling for it
“Longtime party insiders” whining about him is how you can tell he’s good.
They very much own the DNC. Just look at the reaction to the NYC mayor race.
Where?
The only thing I’ve seen is Martin told some donors that progressives can’t win every district…
Which, is obviously true
The example he used was Minnesota where one district wants Illhan Omar and another wants some shitty moderate.
But Martin is going to run national DNC like Minnesota.
Stay out of the primary
Support anyone with a D in the general
It’s on voters to get progressives to the general, so vote in the primary and get as many people as you can to do so as well
Oh I can find quite a few
When the states governor and the top members of the Democratic Party in congress are refusing to endorse the democratic primary winner, they are the DNC. This is Bernie all over again.
What do they have to do with the DNC?
Like, you understand there’s the DNC, and then every state has their own state party, then I’m pretty sure the terrorities have them too
If your point is some people with Ds by their name are pieces of shit and need to be replaced, you’re preaching to the choir director buddy.
But Martin is the DNC chair, and he hasn’t said a single bad thing about Mamdani that I’m aware of.
He"s using synecdoche, saying “DNC” when he means “the majority of prominent Democrats.” You’re speaking specifically about the actual DNC. That’s why you’re disagreeing even though you’re both right.
This seems more aspirational than based in reality. There are some fringes that have escaped their clutches, but establishment Democrats are still entrenched in the system.
You’re not thinking wealthy enough. The system works perfectly for anyone who can afford to donate $1m for a pardon or $5m for citizenship.
Money is definitely afraid of passion, because it can’t be bought.
10/10. No notes.
